AFL tips betting – Showdown Adelaide Crows v Port Adelaide
Adelaide hosts the AFL tips betting Saturday night Showdown clash between local rivals the Adelaide Crows and Port Power. Adelaide has rediscovered some form and they have won three in a row. It is fair to argue they are winning without really getting their game going. There would also have to be some concern about sore bodies and they are on a six day back up out of a physically brutal encounter with the Dockers.
Port Adelaide – recent form
Port Adelaide has been a bit in and out with their form. Their best is good enough but at times they just don’t hold it for long enough. Their last two weeks are far from convincing. They gave up a big lead against the Kangaroos to get in by under three goals. They then failed to turn up in the first quarter against a white hot Collingwood with that first quarter margin being the final buffer.
Prior Showdown form can be misleading
Then again this is a Showdown and often lead in form can be misleading to this game. Adelaide do look a bit short in the betting in what looks to be a 50/50 game in likely heavy conditions. If Port can convert ruck dominance through Lycett and Ryder with Jacobs missing for the Crows into clearance dominance then they can win this game. The loss of Jonas and Wines, co-captains for Port Adelaide does hurt. They also do not have their best player Robbie Gray, midfielder Brad Ebert, best forward Charlie Dixon and sharpshooter WIngard has gone to the Hawks. But Showdowns and the pressure that comes with them creates a whole new pressure. It shapes as another local classic!
