AFL Betting Tips – Round 11 review

AFL Betting Tips - Round 11 review AFL BETTING TIPS – WE TAKE A LOOK AT ROUND 11

KANGAROOS A “SHAW” THING AGAINST THE TIGERS

A really successful start to our AFL Betting Tips Friday night with North home for subscribers +19.5 and $3.20 win a great result. It had been a tumultuous week for North and it leant perfectly into our Human Behaviour Model. Not only were North expected to peak due to the happenings of the week(sacked coach). We also predicted Richmond to be off the boil on the back of a three game peak performance streak.

North Melbourne came out hunting like a team possessed under new coach Shaw. They were aggressive physically and applied manic pressure. Richmond played like it was just a game they were going to turn up to and win and they were ambushed in the biggest possible way.

The big query for North will be whether it’s a one off spike or whether they can “maintain the rage”. Richmond will go away disappointed. It seemed like a team who had tried so hard the last month and were welcoming back their captain and mentally were not on the red line. They are certain to respond in the coming weeks.

GAME WINNING WALTERS DOES IT AGAIN FOR FREO

For the second week in a row Michael “Sonny” Walters  stepped up when it counted and won the match for Freo in the AFL Betting Tips Saturday afternoon game. This time it was a set shot 35 metres out on a slight angle. He had ice in his veins and went back and calmly slotted the goal with only 30 seconds left to go in the game.

It was the stopping of a seven game Collingwood winning streak and Collingwood’s Nathan Buckley simply conceded “we didn’t deserve to win today”.

The Pies although winning in recent weeks have been doing it in a bursts of 15-20 minutes (Carlton, St Kilda, Sydney) of good football. They couldn’t pull it off here.

Fremantle sail into the bye with themselves in the top 8 with 6 from 11 wins and an improvement on their four wins at the same time last year. Collingwood shape up for the big Queens Birthday game next week prior to the bye and are really locked in a battle with the Giants for a top two spot.

GIANTS CRUSH SUNS…AGAIN

The Suns have been competitive in most of their AFL Betting Tips games this year but they were totally outgunned by the rampaging Giants. The Giants had a 13 goal to 3 second half in a powerful display. Jeremy Cameron helped himself to another 5 goals leading the Coleman Medal race by 7 goals. Giants have won three in a row with an average margin of over 11 goals. They are locked in a battle with the Pies at the moment for the top two spot (Cats 2 games clear).

The Suns are back to the drawing board, competitive but are conceding goals too quickly in small periods of the game. Maybe it’s the sign of a young team searching for  the mid season break.

GEELONG 8 GOALS IN 15 MINUTES

The Swans looked like they were on their way in the AFL Betting Tips twilight match, but inaccuracy would be very costly. Sydney had 5 of the firs 6 scoring shots of the game for a 3 goal 3 return. However it would be the inaccuracy for the rest of the game that would prove costly (5 goals 12 points).

Sydney have won their last 3 games at GMBHA Stadium and the Cats were wobbly early. A 15 minute patch of footy in two bursts would bring the Swans undone. It was a run of 4 goals to zero in the last part of the opening term and a patch of 4 goals to zero to open the third quarter. It’s a big game for the Cats next week in a Friday night special against the Tigers.

LIONS LOCKED IN TOP 4 BATTLE DISPOSE OF THE HAWKS

The Brisbane Lions were to the fore again in our AFL Betting Tips Saturday night clash at the Gabba and continued their strong home record. Brisbane were slow out of the blocks trailing by 25 points at Q1 time, Slowly but surely Brisbane reeled in the Hawks. Hawthorn Coach Clarkson lamented his “spluttering” Hawks who have been in the win/loss/win/loss week to week pattern that is befitting of a middle of the road side.

The most impressive aspect was after Brisbane hit the lead and were challenged they were able to handle it better. That is a mark of Fagan’s “keep improving” methodology that he voiced is working so well for the greatly improved Lions.

“GREAT ESCAPE” CROWS CLAW OVER DEMONS

Well it was a carbon copy but in reverse for the Adelaide Crows. Only one week earlier they squandered a 33 point lead in the third quarter to fold up and lose a against the Eagles. Yet here they were midway through the third term and they were down by 31 points.

The inside 50 count of 62-45 in Melbourne’s favour indicates they clearly had their chances. However the Demons are one of the most inefficient sides in the AFL inside 50m. The KPI’s are just so poor they are nearly beyond reading.

The story out of the game was the hamstring injury to Crows co-captain Rory Sloane and he looks certain to miss the next two crucial games before the bye. The Crows take on the Giants and Tigers in two big blockbusters and key matches to their finals aspirations.

The Demons well its just more of the same with three wins for the season which lays in tatters. We suspect that if Melbourne could call off 2019 they would and move onto 2020. Gawn, Weidemann and co all had chances to win it late in the game they failed to get it done. It is back to the drawing board Goody or at least to goal kicking practise.

PORT ADELAIDE WINS “SHANGHAI SHUFFLE”

The early game in our AFL Betting Tips Sunday fixture was from Shanghai, China as Port Adelaide continued on their winning run in the province. They made it 3 straight wins and really putting the Saints to the sword who were on their maiden voyage to the Land Of The Rising Sun.

In all honesty, despite the upbeat rhetoric from Port Adelaide, Channel 7, AFL etc we just don’t get the China strategy. Give is resource into Tasmania, Northern Territory and Northern Queensland any day of the week. This just looks like junket to us although we doubt that the players feel this way. Port Adelaide did what they had to do and for St Kilda it looks season over.

GOODYBE BOLTS AS BLUES DROP 6 STRAIGHT AND SACK COACH

As we speak Carlton Coach Brendan Bolton has been sacked. This is just a sorry excuse for the most underperformed club in recent history in the AFL. We will have a full comprehensive review about the sorry state of Carlton tomorrow.

The Bombers were able to get it done in our AFL Betting Tips Sunday afternoon game against an old foe who had given them some real trouble in the last couple of meetings (losing both 2017 and ’18). Essendon did what they had to do and that’s about the start and finish of this review. Like Port Adelaide against St Kilda, this game really told us little about Essendon.

EAGLES FINALLY PUT A FULL GAME TOGETHER AT THE NEST

Our final game to wind out the AFL Betting Tips weekend was the West Coast Eagles taking on the Bulldogs. West Coast finally delivered on what they had been threatening to do and it was all on show in a 9 goal Q3 blitz. This announced the Premiership defense is seriously on track.

It was the full 4 quarter performance and as Coach Simpson did promise West Coast would get better the longer they played together. Quite remarkably they now sit 8-3 inside the top 4 and are only now really starting to get their game going. Darling had a real day out with 6 goals and with 12 between he, Kennedy and Ryan they were devastating offensively.

For the Bulldogs there really is not much to report on and the bye may just be coming at the right time for the Dogs. But AFL competition better be wary that the Eagles are coming!
