AFL BETTING TIPS PORT ADELAIDE
2019 – FINISHED 10th 11 WINS and 11 LOSSES
PORT ADELAIDE…SAME, SAME BUT DIFFERENT
Its clearly AFL Finals or bust for Ken Hinkley at Port Adelaide. Hinkley has been put on notice publicly by Chairman David Koch that only finals will do. Hinkley himself declaring we are here to win the AFL Premiership. “We are coming” he warned the AFL competition but this is nothing unusual for Hinkley as he has a history of promising the world pre season only to deliver an atlas at seasons end!!
Port Adelaide Power – expectation = problem
There seem to be the same old issues raring their head year after year at Port Adelaide. Firstly they have a shocking record at performing against expectation. Port for a number of years deliver when they are not expected to and go missing when they are the hot favourites. This is a mental issue that often sees them go in a win/loss pattern week to week and Hinkley has to accept responsibility for this roller coaster ride as his persona in the media also differs week to week dependant on the result. Port Adelaide have been in the top couple for inside 50’s the last few years and in the bottom few for score conversions inside 50. It’s a problem they haven’t been able fix after three years of work. Admittedly a fit Charlie Dixon could help but it’s a big punt to think a man who has never put a season together could be the answer.
Port Adelaide – pressure is on
The pressure is on at Port Adelaide and not something they have handled overly well in the past. It is the 150 year celebration for the SANFL Port Magpies/AFL Port Power. Now this can be a motivating force but it can also be an added pressure. We see them sliding this year as a result. It is also going to be very interesting to see if the young guns in Rozee, Butters, and Dhursma can reproduce at the top level or if they follow the second year blues. Hinkleys time at Port is done, this shapes as being another year with wasted opportunity. Four years in a row of missing AFL Finals really says it all and there should have been a coaching change and a fresh start.

AFL BETTING TIPS RICHMOND
2019 FINISHED PREMIERS AFTER 3rd AT END HOME AND AWAY
RICHMOND TIGERS AND BACK TO BACK?
Something that eluded Richmond in 2018 was the back to back flag. They fell over at the hurdle of a AFL Preliminary Final 2018 however that loss would serve as the motivation to scale once again the mountain that is the AFL Premier 2017 and 2019. Richmond have been at the top of their game for the last 3 years now producing two AFL Premiership flags and a Prelim Final, however it’s the intangible that Richmond has built that sees it being a major challenger again in AFL Betting Tips 2020.
Richmond Tigers – relationships and brand values
The ability that Richmond has to turn vulnerability into a virtue has been quite extraordinary. By having honest conversations and baring their soul for all to see (from the Coach down) it has created a level of trust and understanding in each other that has bonded this side like no other. It has lead to sustained performance on the field in the last few years. The other aspect to like is the want and desire of the coaching and playing group to be unorthodox. Play with no ruckman in a Grand Final and to play a debut performer in a Grand Final. To play a small fleet forward line as no other does you get the picture they re not scared to make a bold decision and it has held them well.
Richmond FC – no real weaknesses
Its hard to find a negative in the Tigers armour, sure there is no Rance but they won it last year without him. What’s more they look to have the tall towers Riewoldt and Lynch to work in tandem for an extended period. To be honest the main danger to Richmond may very well be themselves, if they cant maintain the fervour and hunger and team orientation that got them there they are beatable. But we see them finishing similar position after home and away to last year.
