AFL BETTING TIPS 2020 MELBOURNE

2019 – FINISHED 17th 5 WINS 17 LOSSES

MELBOURNE DEMONS TO RETURN OR REVIVAL?

AFL Betitng Tips 2018 saw Melbourne spike in performance making it all the way to the Preliminary final. However it seemed the embarrassment of their exit in this game that provided a hangover for the 2019 season unveiling themselves as the most disappointing side of the season with a massive fall from grace. They won only 5 games finishing in the bottom 2 so which one is the real Melbourne? Truth be known its probably somewhere in between but we think Melbourne will bounce back from the poor 2019 season and retake a position in the finals.

Melbourne Demons – clear out the catalyst for change

There has been a cleanout of sorts off the field at Melbourne with senior assistant Brendan McCartney moved on and fitness whiz Darren Burgess returning to Australia to oversee the high performance from Arsenal in the EPL. Both of these moves should not be underestimated in the ability to effect immediate change.

Melbourne FC – 2019 off season a disaster

Melbourne didn’t handle the off season after 2018 very well. Having gone deep into the year they failed to get players off for required surgery quickly which meant a delay in these players (they had 12 players) returning to full contact work very late in the piece. They never recovered from this early season “slow start” and 2019 was done before it begun. They will surely have learnt those lessons and with redemption burning in the guts Melbourne are likely improvers in our view.

There wasn’t a lot change list wise for the Demons in the off season and it will largely be self improvement. Melbourne for whatever reason seemed to be let “off the hook” by the media last season but a repeat year would bring the wolves to the door. We see an immediate spike in performance that falls directly in line with our HBM Human Behaviour Model.

AFL BETTING TIPS NORTH MELBOURNE

2019 FINISHED 12th 10 WINS 12 LOSSES

NORTH MELBOURNE NEW COACH BUT IS THAT ENOUGH?

North Melbourne is one of 5 clubs to start the 2020 season with a different coach than they did in 2019. Rhyce Shaw took over when the club was 3 wins and 7 losses he went 7 and 5 in the back half of the year and managed to secure himself the gig. It was evident immediately with Shaw stamping his mark on the side changing up the midfield mix and bringing a defense first style to the side whilst not bogging the team down with over direction.

Brad Scott gone a catalyst for change

There is no doubt the Kangaroos gained a kick in performance by moving on Brad Scott. It was clear he had become stale to the playing group and his time was up when they delivered the shocker in their marquee Good Friday match. The question that needs to be answered however is can the Kangaroos produce a sustained performance under Shaw when he is the main man and his neck in the noose rather than the caretaker role?

North Melbourne did little in the off season to improve their list so it is hard to see where the next leap will come from. We have taken the view that they are likely to land somewhere between the 30% win rate under Scott and the 58% win rate under Shaw.
