The Magic Millions Tips meeting for the Saturday 11th January is a brilliant day of Brisbane Racing Tips that features two $2 million races for the Gold Coast racecourse meeting. They are the Magic Millions classic over 1200m for the 2 year olds and the Magic Millions Guineas over 1300m for the 3 year olds. Quality fields will be assembled for these two great races on the Brisbane Racing Tips calendar.

The Magic Millions Tips meeting for Saturday 11 January will have $10 prize money at stake over the 9 race meeting on the Gold Coast. The other feature races for the Magic Millions Gold Coast meeting are as follows:

Magic Millions – kicks off 4th January

The Magic Millions Gold Coast Racing Carnival over 2 weeks kicks off on the Saturday 4th January. The meeting features the Magic Millions Rising Stars 3yo and 4yo race worth $250,000 over 1300 for Colts and Geldings and then is followed by the same race but for Fillies and Mares.

Magic Millions – History and Winx

The Magic Millions Australian thoroughbred racehorse auction is held over 7 days during the Magic Millions Racing Carnival. It has been the venue of sales of many outstanding racehorses in Australia and no more so than its most famous sale, champion mare Winx. WInx was sold at the Gold Coast Magic Million sales in 2013 for $230,000 and of course we all know how history turned out for her.

But the Magic Millions yearling sales was not always a great success and in fact in the late 1990s was in awful financial difficulty. To the rescue came businessman Gerry Harvey and media businessman John Singleton who saved the Magic Millions and have made it the huge success it now is. Singleton sold out in 2015 and the business is now owned solely by Harvey and wife Katie Page.

Gold Coast racecourse – home of Magic Millions 2 year old classic

The Gold Coast racecourse is the home of the $2 million Magic Millions Classic for the 2 year olds and the Guineas for 3 year olds. The course was established in 1946 and is 5 minutes from downtown Surfers Paradise. The Gold Coast track is 1885 metres in circumference and has a straight of about 400 metres. It holds about 60 meetings per year.
