Chiefs v 49ers – Superbowl Miami
So here we are to the “Greatest Show on Earth” or the “Big Dance” whatever you like to call it, it’s the NFL Super Bowl. Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers line up in the Super Bowl in what will be likely a highly entertaining game. It is 50 years since the Chiefs have been here and the 49ers have been basket case like for along time so stakes are high for both sides as we outline our NFL Super Bowl Tips.
Super Bowl – peak performance runs
Both teams come here on extended peak performance line cover runs and in the case of the Chiefs it is an almighty run of 8 games covering the line. This is unprecedented in the NFL 2019/20 season and as good as the Chiefs are does add an element or risk to a flat one. The 49ers have been on a 3 game peak performance run so still strong but not that of the Chiefs.
Super Bowl – The Road to the Super Bowl
The 49ers ranked 1 in the NFC and rightly have made their way to the Super Bowl. On the way to the Super Bowl in a 13-3 season they have beaten the Vikings 27-10 and Packers 37-10 in two superb offensive/defensive performances.
The Chiefs rank 3 in the NFC thanks to the last game stumble of the Patriots that allowed to Chiefs the week rest otherwise it was a wildcard berth for them. The Chiefs have beaten the Texans 51-31 and the Titans 24-35. They have been scored heavily against but have scored massive scores themselves highlighting the offensive strategy of the Chiefs.
Super Bowl – sub plot
Their are some sub plots playing out in this Super Bowl for both sides as always is the case. For the Chiefs the big stat is the 50 year wait to get here again. The coaching record of Head Coach Andy Reid is another with only a 50% win/loss record in play offs. For the 49ers they have gone from basket case to respected franchise as they were in their great era of the 80s and 90s. Coach Kyle Shanahan has been the change and the son of legendary Coach Mike Shanahan has made all the difference to the 49ers.
Super Bowl – who will win?
The scenario to this game is quite simple from our viewpoint. Do you fancy thie high octane offense of the Chiefs led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes. On the other side is the defensive strength of the 49ers and their ability to stymie the Chiefs attacking. The thing for us is IF the 49ers can stop Chiefs ball movement, they can attack as well as shown in the play off games. We favour this combination as a flexible and winning one and on the back of the Chiefs 8 game peak performance extended run we are backing the 49ers.
49ers 2 units +1.5 and 1 unit win $2.10
