AFL Brownlow Medal Bets

Who will take home Charlie in 2019? it’s the AFL Betting Tips Brownlow Medal and here are a few value plays to give you an interest as the count unfolds. The Brownlow Medal is awarded to the fairest and best player in the AFL competition as judged by the AFL umpires after each game it is the most prestigious individual honour in the AFL game. And don’t be sucked in by the Red Carpet pre count. Believe it or not the event is the Brownlow Medal count, not what happens pre the count.

Brownlow Medal Market as follows –

$2.60 Dangerfield
$5.00 Neale
$6.50 Bontempelli, Fyfe
$11.00 Cripps
$15.00 Grundy
$21.00 Treloar
$25.00+ all others

To Win – PATRICK CRIPPS $11
We really think Patrick Cripps at $11 represents great value, he was at one point the Brownlow Medal fav earlier in season, he had a great start to the year and although missing games late we expect him to be out with Lachie Neale early and this particular bet has a “cash out” option available so should he get away to a flyer as we expect cashing out could be the play.

PATRICK CRIPPS $3.25 LEADER AFTER ROUND 5
No doubt the battle will be between Neale and Cripps early and we have Cripps rated 2 votes in front of Neale at this stage so the $3.25 looks some value.

HEAD TO HEAD TRAVIS BOAK $1.57 VS DAYNE ZORKO $2.30
Despite being a $1.57 play we feel this is still value in the Boak bet. Zorko had a solid year but will be robbed by Neale throughout the season. And lets face it there are not a lot of vote stealers at Port Adelaide and we have Boak down for at least 4 best on ground performances.

BROWNLOW MEDAL “EXTRAS” MARKET BROWNLOW GROUP B
TRAVIS BOAK $2 VS MAX GAWN $5, SHAUN HIGGINS $6, ANDREW GAFF $8 and BEN CUNNINGTON $8
Max Gawn has had another solid year but once again we see the even money on offer for Travis Boak as a solid play in this group particularly with Cunnington and Higgins teammates taking votes off each other

MOST VOTES COLLINGWOOD BRODIE GRUNDY $1.90
Cleary the standout ruckmen of the competition and just holds sway over Adam Treloar ($2.10) in this market, Grundy has a style lending to be noticed by the umpires eye and despite a lean run home his first 2/3s of the season should be enough

MOST VOTES GWS JEREMY CAMERON $4
looks an overs play here, the fav of course is Stephen Coniglio ($2) but he missed 7 games including the last 6, Cameron had some big hauls and became the reigning Coleman medallist so is worth the speck here

MOST VOTES HAWTHORN JAMES WORPEL $2
The little query is whether the umpires knew who this guy was!! He lost the long locks but boy did he power to another level this season, he is the favoured pick ahead of O’Meara ($3.10) and deservedly so.
