AFL Betting Tips Friday night – West Coast v Melbourne

Friday Night in AFL Betting Tips and Melbourne return to where it all started to go wrong. Back to Optus Stadium in Perth where they were embarrassed in a AFL Preliminary Final 2018 and truth be told they are yet to recover.

A contrarian might argue that perhaps it’s the very motivation they need to bury the “Demons” holding them back. Truth be known, they are not the first and will not be the last young AFL team to be smashed in a Prelim. All the same is was a bad day!

It is a big ask for the Demons, on the road for a second week in a row covering huge kilometres to come here had win. Melbourne-Gold Coast-Melbourne-Perth is a “frequent flyers” dream but not an AFL side.

West Coast will be looking to really hit their straps and maybe the side they smashed on the way to the AFL Grand Final can see them put together four good quarters for the first time this year.

The Demons have won back to back games by a combined margin of 6 points (5 points Hawks and 1 point Suns). So despite being far from convincing one wonders whether that can provide some confidence for them to springboard into the remainder of the season.

This game looks to Jo Public like the Eagles 10 goals + but this is where the Human Behaviour Model can have some of its best results, as we evidenced by our Carlton bet last week

Collingwood versus St Kilda

Collingwood got a scare last week in the AFL Betting Tips before finally getting it going late in the game. They are staring down the barrel staring at 6 wins straight and that lapse against the Blues last week may just be the wake up call they need.

St Kilda on the other hand are really struggling with injuries and despite giving their all against the Eagles last week they just appear to lack the overall class across the ground to win games like this.

St Kilda were playing elevated AFL in the first part of the year with work rate and team cohesion. The work rate in general is still there but the knowingness and belief around each other seems to have waned as the talent has become injured.

it will be a very tough ask against Collingwood who will go a long way to winning this years AFL Grand Final.

AFL Betting Tips – Brisbane versus Adelaide – MATCH OF THE ROUND

It’s a big AFL Betting Tips clash on Saturday afternoon in the match of the round its fifth taking on third as the Brisbane Lions host the Adelaide Crows at the Gabba.

Brisbane have been strong at home this season with the only loss coming at the hands of Collingwood so this will be no easy journey for the Crows. Adelaide have won four in a row and really got their season rolling. Their most recent wIn was in the hotly contested Showdown against Port Adelaide.

It is possible the Crows are due for a downward tick in form off recent strong results and away from home lends itself even more to that possibility.

Brisbane although beaten last week weren’t disgraced and a lot of their fundamentals were up to par, the exception was goal kicking. This game will be a big battle between Brisbane’s ability to score and Adelaide’s ability to defend. Brisbane is a very difficult side to stop with goal runs. But Adelaide’s defense is ranked top two in the last month for scores conceded with only 54 points per game against.

All in all it shapes as a ripping contest very worthy of its Match of the Round billing.

Geelong versus Bulldogs – at the Cattery

The Western Bulldogs have the biggest ask in AFL on the AFL Betting Tips Saturday afternoon game as they take on the Cats at the Cattery! Geelong are rolling iaolong and ironically their only loss this year was at home against the GWS. However this oval is their fortress and they will be looking to halt the Bulldogs in their tracks who have seemingly got their mojo back.

The Western Bulldogs are coming off back to back peak performances. Coach Luke Beveridge informed us of it being eight quarters of consistency and he went on to add that the next challenge is to keep that consistency going. That is going to be tested in the biggest possible way. The experience curve and the footy nous that the Cats have it is very likely they will be able to curb the Bulldogs scoring power. Bulldogs spearhead Aaron Naughton has been unstoppable in the last fortnight of footy.

Geelong are ticking all the boxes so far this season and their flexibility in positional movement is a big part of their success. The Dogs will be hungry to let people know they have arrived but it will take there best and more to unsettle Geelong.

Essendon versus Fremantle

The Dockers head east for their AFL Betting Tips clash with Essendon at Marvel Stadium. This ground that has not been a happy hunting ground for Fremantle. They have lost their last two to Essendon here and one of the main issues they have faced is they were comprehensively beaten by Essendon’s leg speed. It may be a different scenario here as the Dockers have considerably increased their outside game since their last meeting.

Fremantle were poor last week and they seemed to float into the game and were ambushed by a hungry Richmond outfit. Ross Lyon will ensure his side is breathing fire early. They have successfully managed their downfalls week to week so we are expecting them to adjust again here.

Essendon have lost three in a row and admittedly two of the three have been under a kick. Two of the three have been against Collingwood and Geelong, the two top AFL ranked sides. They will relish being back on their “home” deck and will be looking to open the Dockers up with their run and gun. This is both their blessing and curse and they have no plan B so its everything or nothing for Essendon.

AFL Betting Tips – North v Sydney in Hobart

Hobart is the venue for the second AFL Betting Tips Saturday night game as the Kangaroos host the Sydney Swans. Since their disastrous Good Friday game the Kangaroos have played a lot more consistent footy. A narrow loss to the Power and a big win over Carlton, then gave Geelong something to think about on the weekend.
They have been up for a three week run now.

Sydney chalked up their first win in a while over Essendon last week, rediscovering some confidence. Sydney Coach Longmire would be a little more content that the youth are showing some signs of nice ability. They do have the extra two days break in the favour as well they will be a big show.

North Melbourne has really made this a “home away from home” with such a dominant win/loss at this ground. They have won their last five here and seven of the last nine.

AFL Betting Tips – Sunday Port Adelaide versus Gold Coast

The early AFL Betting Tips Sunday game sees the Port Adelaide Power take on the Gold Coast Suns in Adelaide. Port Adelaide has hit the skids they have lost their last two and need to win here to claw their way back into contention.

The Suns were terrible on their trip to Adelaide earlier this year and Coach Dew and his men will be looking to go some way to erasing that memory with a bold showing here. Despite losing their last four games the Suns have been a lot better the last two weeks. They have played above expectation in peak performances covering the line handicap bet in back to back games.
Port Adelaide must bring some consistency to their game and they need to win the games they are expected to win. This is a test for Port to show they can do what they are expected to do.

AFL Betting Tips – Richmond versus Hawthorn

A big Sunday clash in the AFL Betting Tips sees the Tigers take on the Hawks in a blockbuster at the MCG. Both sides back on the winners list in a big way last week and all things point to this being a classic.

Clarkson got his troops back in the groove as he dropped his former skipper and four time premiership player Jaryd Roughhead and the team responded in the most emphatic fashion. They put the GWS Giants away in a ferocious second half of footy.

Richmond hit back hard after their drubbing at the hands of the Dogs and they played like men possessed against the Dockers. They played high intensity the whole day and came away from the west with the points not an easy thing to do.

GWS Giants versus Carlton

Round 9 in the AFL Betting Tips winds out with the GWS Giants hosting the Blues at Giants Stadium. The Giants were deplorable and according to their coach Leon Cameron they “were not at AFL standard”. This is a big knock on a side who had appeared to make significant inroads and only a few weeks ago beat the Cats at the Cattery. Perhaps the lack of on field leadership due to injuries finally caught up with them but with the lack of effort against the Dockers a few weeks ago and then to deliver similar again it’s a concern for Cameron.

Carlton on the other hand are coming of an “admirable” loss as they pushed the Pies all the way. Carlton showed they had really galvanised against the external noise showed respect for their coach Bolton. That said as we forecasted in our Human Behaviour in last weeks AFL Betting Tips, their opponent Collingwood was due for a flat one.

For this game however its possible they will dip on the back of that effort. Despite not winning Carlton have been up for a while (loss 2 points Suns, win 44pts Dogs, loss 5 points Hawks, thumped 58 North then 19 pt loss versus Pies). So in effect they have been up 4 of last 5 weeks and a dip is on the cards especially when you factor in the Giants need to respond on their poor performance last week.
