AFL Betting Tips - Richmond v Geelong AFL Betting Tips – Richmond v Geelong MCG

It’s a Friday night special in our AFL Betting Tips Round 12 opener as Richmond take on the Cats at the MCG. Its an AFL Betting Tips match of the round as two heavyweight AFL teams go at it an the home of AFL, the MCG.

AFL Match of the Round 12

Geelong have had a faultless start to the year losing only 1 game so far (GWS) and when challenged at various times they have continually found a way. Again it happened on Saturday when the Swans were pressing the Cats scrapped harder and got over the line. It looks an even contest as reflected in the AFL Betting odds.

Richmond on the other hand after a strong 6-1 winning run were brought to a grinding halt by a renewed Kangaroos outfit under the guidance of Rhyce Shaw.

Richmond have won three of the last four against the Cats so Geelong will be looking to right the ledger/ Geelong regain Gazza and unbelievably the Tomahawk Tom Hawkins remains available even after his brain fade elbow last week.

The Tigers are sure to revert to the inside 50 pressure dynamos an area that had gained them so much ascendancy in the previous month of footy. You do get the feeling that despite their phenomenal season so far the Cats may just be able to be got here. The Tigers pride was pricked by their unexpected loss last week.

AFL Betting Tips – 1st versus 6th

First versus sixth is a great way to kick off AFL Betting Tips round 12. Geelong comes off a solid home win over Sydney 85-63. Richmond after a strong run is off a disappointing loss against North Melbourne. Richmond had been on a big three game peak performance run v North and we had them due for the fall which they duly had.

Head to Head, Richmond has won the last three but Geelong the two prior that. Last year were close 3 point and 18 point wins by Richmond. Four of the last five games have been close with an average margin of 10 points per game. Two of the four were under a goal. The total game score has been a moderate 150 points average per game the last five head to head, surprising given the strong offense of both teams.

Neither side covered the line last week making this a no bet game but is sure to be a beauty and a must win for Richmond. The line is a tight -9.5 Geelong. No bet.
