The Everest $100 into $11 chance
This Saturday is The Everest at Randwick racecourse, the 1200 metre sprint machine race. The Everest now with Group 1 status is the race that will challenge the Caulfield Cup for attention in Saturday racing. Switzerland was the horse last Saturday to announce itself over the weekend. After an average first up run he was able to bounce STRONGLY and take out the Roman Consul Stakes. In doing so put its hand up for an Everest slot AND is now in The EVEREST. Tightened from $100 into $11 for The Everest and on the sixth line of betting.
Caulfield Guineas the fav flops
Caulfield Guineas was an upset win to Private Life leading all of the way on a day that suited lead/rail. It pricked the balloon of Broadsiding who got back made ground but in some markets went from equal fav out to as much as $11 for the Cox Plate. That was quickly snapped now at $5 but there is $8 around. Private Life trimmed up for both the Derby ($26 into $10) and the Coolmore ($34 into $15) with punters hedging whether he steps up or down in trip!
Mr Brightside finished second to Deny Knowledge winner. Another example of lead/win on the day beautifully rated the winner Deny Knowledge by Zahra. Mr Brightside chased hard but didn’t have the bottom end needed. Despite being beaten a whisker in the Cox Plate last year the jury is still out whether he can run 2000m maybe the play is just to keep him to the mile, Deny Knowledge trimmed up from $34 into $21 for Caulfield Cup
Jimmystar was a BIG winner and totally denied the pattern pf the day settled back and unloaded big run (as he did on resuming) the horse is low flying and firmed from $8 into $3 hot fav for the Rupert Clarke
Rosehill Gloaming Stakes El Castello sat off a HOT tempo had the run of the race and was nice and strong late the back markers were simply run off their feet early and Snowfalcn was a MASSIVE run flying home but all too late
Roughie selection wins at $27
Attrition delivered at $27 ROUGHIE BET WIN and had not won since the Toorak Handicap the same day last year. It was a ROUGHIE BET on our SATURDAY MORNING LATE MAIL. Trainer Mitch Freedman targeted the Hill Stakes at Rosehill now worth 2 million it was clearly the target race and peaked on the day to win, Doubtful they head to the Cox Plate most probably the Rupert Clarke was $26 into $15
Antino took the Toorak Handicap after being runner up last year and was in our top 3 selections. It was absolutely the ride of the Spring Racing Carnival so far by Blake Shinn. Looped them dashed for home and caught them napping once again. The boom horse Another Will failed to deliver when the Group 1 pressure was on. Antino looks to be heading to Hong Kong BUT will probably race in the Champions Mile before heading there. Antino is steady in that market at $8
