It was The Everest and Caulfield Cup and master trainer Ciaran Maher takes home the biscuits in both races from Caulfield and Randwick. A nice bunch of winners from our Racing Tips analysts including best of the day free racing tips winners Saturday and Sunday.

CAULFIELD CUP WINNER Duke De Sessa $18
The evenness of the Caulfield Cup had us put up 6 SELECTIONS and the winner Duke De Sessa was one of them, $18 when we put our tips out Friday afternoon. Also land the QUINELLA with Buckaroo who ran second one of our selections.
GREAT run by DUKE DE SESSA sat up near the tempo and Coffey went for home a long way out. Broke up the field and was too strong, the jock even reporting the horse EXTREMELY hard to pull up. This means the first Tuesday in November could be the go BUT currently NOT nominated for the Melbourne Cup. Was $26 into $12 for the MELBOURNE CUP with Ladbrokes then withdrawn from the market.
BLACK BOOKER so keep an eye on this space.
BUCKAROO was the race fav and lost no admirers, got a long way out of its ground and made good ground. It is hard to see anything behind the pair improving to beat them in the MELBOURNE CUP.
THE EVEREST BELLA NIPOTINA
The Everest was a FANTASTIC race with less than 2 lengths between the first 8. It was all honours to the winner Bella Niptina and ridden positively, raced wide and working and too strong late. She has has an extraordinary 12 months and Maher with the Everest/Caulfield Cup and Jockey Williams with the Kosciusko/ Everest double.
RANDWICK KING CHARLES STAKES
Cox Plate Moonee Valley looms large this week. Ceowulf has had a HUGE campaign, culminating in back to back Group 1s and charging over the top of Pride Of Jenni. Ceowulf will likely to go for a well earned break with trainer Pride advising this is his Cox Plate horse for 2025. Pride of Jenni lost NO admirers, forced to work early but she dug in the last 100 meters when looked out on her feet. Not many horses can do that AND WE SAY onward and upward to a COX PLATE WIN from here. BLACK BOOKER COX PLATE PRIDE OF JENNI $6
Fangirl a flop but Tom Kitten was VERY nice late, not sure where they head but worth following. Our 30-1 selection Private Eye sixth beaten 1.56 lengths not far off. BLACK BOOKER: TOM KITTEN
CAULFIELD TOO DARN DISCREET…TOO DARN GOOD
This was our TOP SELECTION STRONG BET for the fillies and duly collected. Filly, TOO DARN DISCREET was simply TOO DARN GOOD. The margin was narrow but had PLENTY left. She wanted to lug in up the straight under pressure so jock couldn’t really unleash her. They may need to either put a lugging bit or maybe a one eyed Blinker (not many Group 1 horses wear these). But on that win she firmed into $5 second pick for Oaks and tracking well. BLACK BOOKER TOO DARN DISCREET VICTORIAN OAKS
CAULFIELD CLASSIC STAKES
Keeneland’s bubble may have burst here AND was found vulnerable late. Didn’t alter its position much in the Derby betting but didn’t look good to us. Winner Kingofwallstreet and second China Sea both trimmed in for Derby. Scary was very disappointing beaten 4 lengths. Not sure this is the form race.
BLACK BOOKER…THE VASE THIS SATURDAY AT THE VALLEY
