MELBOURNE RACING TIPS REVIEW

Here is a quick snapshot of the weekend for our Melbourne Racing Tips followers as we steamroll through the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. We had 2 huge meetings with the Friday night Moonee Valley Moir Stakes meeting where the track seemed to play very fairly backed up by the Group 1 Underwood stakes meeting  on Sunday at Caulfield where it was CLEARLY an advantage closer to the pace.

MOONEE VALLEY FRIDAY NIGHT MOIR STAKES MEETING – 3 from 3 winners

Our man Pete Brinky supplied selections for the three feature races on Friday night finding 3 winners in the 3 races a sensational effort!! The Holy One ($9) was very well found by Pete as a value bet, the price was quite amazing when you consider it started in a similar race last as favourite last run, it rolled straight to the front and was to good in the Stutt Stakes.

Nature Strip a 2 unit Strong Bet
Pete also found Nature Strip ($3.30) as a 2 Unit strong bet and connections finally let the horse do its natural thing and lead at good tempo instead of trying to restrain it for a good result, the issue will now be to try and get a slot for the 1200m Everest

MELBOURNE RACING TIPS SATURDAY – CAULFIELD

What a “Roughies” day it turned out to be on Underwood Stakes Day, the averaged price across all winners was $28-1 with a $21, $81, $21 and $101 winner highlighting the nightmare it was for punters on the day!! All in all a very tough day for punters at the heath!

Melbourne Racing Tips – Underwood Stakes analysis

BLACK HEART BART Enjoyed terrific trailing run the horse had shown at its first two runs back that a run like this wasn’t out of the equation  but its last run was only fair, it bounced back beautifully courtesy of the good ride to win this race for a second time
HOMESMAN Beaten but still ran very well, raced worse than midfield mostly no cover, Melham decided to really burn some petrol from the 700-550 improving position quickly, not ideal decision! The run was full of merit and still on target for the Melbourne Racing Tips Cox Plate
GAILO CHOP clearlythe run of the race, used fuel early to get up toward lead but never really got 1 off raced 3 wide no cover the whole way and fought on like a caged lion huge run and is currently $21 for the Melbourne Racing Tips Cox Plate
HARTNELL had every chance another terrific run by the 9yo in fact three 9 year olds finished in the top 4 in this race quite amazing effort!!
SUPER TITUS  Not a bad run from a Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Cup perspective got tightened at the top of the straight when looked like was coming right into it, got going again late and at $51 for the Caulfield Cup looks overs
GATTING the last start roughie winner had every chance up outside the pace and simply weakened out of it didn’t run a strong 1800m.
YULONG PRINCE worth following really found the line late and is currently $101 for the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Cup, looks like will eat up the 2400m may be worth an each way.

SYDNEY RACING TIPS SATURDAY – ROSEHILL

Here is a review of the weekend for our Sydney Racing Tips followers as the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival continued with the running of the Group 1 Golden Rose as the key 3 year olds strutted their stuff. The day also included the running of the Group 2 Shannon Quality and the Group 2 Golden Pendant.

Dr Drill ($6.50) who started fav last run and was disappointed bounced back in nice fashion having a box seat run and getting the rails run in the straight for nice win. Dr Drill was a 2 unit bet to get us off to a strong start.

Bivouac ($2.50) was a 3 unit Best Bet and we gave it as big wrap in our comments for the Saturday morning Late Mail.  Bivouac big winner of the Golden Rose, showing a new perspective we haven’t seen from this horse showing real guts when headed by Yes Yes Yes to respond and win. All things are pointing to a possible “The Everest” start for this 3YO to take on the older horses.

Shadow Hero ($2.90) was SUPER impressive taking put the Gloaming Stakes and racing into $3 favourite for the Melbourne Racing Tips Victoria Derby, he took over and put them away sensationally to the wire!

Sydney Racing Tips – Golden Rose analysis

BIVOUAC sat outside the pace and hit the lead early in the straight was headed by Yes Yes Yes and showed great courage to kick and win. The stable feel is a query at the 1600m of the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Guineas so are now looking to press instead toward possibly “The Everest”
YES YES YES looked the winner at the 200m, moved up to go straight past Bivouac after enjoying a nice run, failed to run out the 1400m strongly
EXCEEDANCEsettled back got into the clear at the right time, really finding the line late was nice tune up toward the Guineas gives every indication will run a strong mile.
CASTELVECHIO SHOCKER!! This horse went terribly needs a gear change to switch it on the inexperience of the young trainer has shown this prep, particularly resuming him over 1500m last run.

This Saturday Racing Tips – Turnball Stakes and Epsom Handicap.

What a Saturday of Racing we get this week in both Melbourne Racing Tips and Sydney Racing Tips as both Carnivals really step into action as we hit October.

The Melbourne Racing Tips Spring Carnival heads to Flemington this week with the running of the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m). This race will give us a great insight to the staying types for the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup being the first Group 1 over 2000m for the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. It brings together a mix of Handicappers and WFA horses also carrying a $1 million bonus for any horse who can win the Turnbull/Cox Plate double. The meeting also includes the running of the Group 2 Edward Manifold (1600m) for the 3YO staying fillies, the Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1400m) for the mares and the Group 2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m).

Our Sydney Racing Tips Spring Carnival really hits huge heights with the running of 3 Group 1s at Royal Randwick with the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) the Group 1 Metropolitan (2400m) and the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) in a stunning entrée to the remainder of the staying races over both the Sydney Racing and Melbourne Racing Spring Carnival.
