Melbourne Racing – Turnball Stakes

The Turnbull Stakes is one of the most important middle distance races of the Melbourne Racing Tips Spring Carnival. It is a massive guide for punters and trainers alike as to how the key players are progressing toward the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield and Melbourne Cups. And being run at 2000m it can serve as a top off run for the Cox Plate. This really brings an interesting blend of the WFA horse and Handicapper together chasing different goals and it can make it difficult for the punters.

It is important to note that the last 4 winners of the Turnbull Stakes have had their lead up run in Sydney, this is worth paying attention to. You only have to look through the honour roll to know how important this race is. WInx has won the last 2  and Green Moon Zipping, Efficient and Makybe Diva all Melbourne Cup or Cox Plate winners coming through this race.
