FINALS LOOKS SHOTAFL Betting Tips – it is always the Coach

We read one of the more astounding headlines in the AFL Betting Tips 2019 season yesterday. This is one of the best deflections that we have seen from a club CEO to divert attention away from their under siege AFL Coach.

Keith Thomas, CEO of Port Power comes out and says “I am to blame for the clubs woes this year”. With all due respect Keith, you cannot possibly be talking about what is happening on the ground, surely. Yes you are a talented executive but if you think you are good enough to take the wrap for the on field woes, no thank you very much. That sits in order… Coach Hinkley then Players then Assistant Coaches and then Football Department.

Disconnection with fans is LOSING GAMES AND SELECTING 2 CAPTAINS

Keith talks about a disconnection with the Port Adelaide fans. Guess what Keith, you are disconnected to your fans because the TEAM IS LOSING. Not because of you! And secondly if you had kept Boak as Captain or appointed 1 NEW CAPTAIN ONLY you would have lessened the disconnection.

Port Adelaide – AFL damning stats

Port is the third worst performed side in the AFL since round 16 2018 and check these stats out:
* It has won 9 of its last 26 games in the AFL
* 3 of 7 years only making the finals
* Lost 6 of its 7 final home and way games in 2018
* Has gone basically win-loss-win-loss since round 6 2019
* Only Carlton and Gold Coast have worse numbers for this period

These are staggeringly bad numbers and as good as Keith is, Keith you are not that good you can take these numbers and own them. These are Football Department only stats.

AFL Betting Tips Round 19 – 1 point lost

It was only 1 point loss but it was a massive loss win for Port against the GWS Giants in the AFL Betting tips Saturday night game. It was also enough for our Port Adelaide +2.5 line bet to salute however.

Port Adelaide really have the job ahead to make the AFL Finals race remaining a game and percentage outside the AFL Top 8 and yet again blew another opportunity. Adelaide did leave the door open for them by losing to Carlton. When the game was there for the taking once again Port Adelaide were not up for the fight. To their credit Port Adelaide worked their way back into but yet again could not score. This is a recurring theme for the last 3 years at Alberton and you have to ask how does this continue and why haven’t the coaching group fixed it?  They consistently look like no system going forward and they have not consistently produced their outside run for a long time now.

Port Adelaide – mixed messaging

We see David Koch club President stating that “its about now and our benchmark is finals” and rightly so. We then see Assistant Coach Jarrod Schofield taking about “we have a young group and looking to the future”. As we said then CEO Keith Thomas comes out and says “I am to blame for the clubs disconnection with fans”. This is mixed messaging if we have ever heard and seen it. This is not good for anyone associated with Port and smells of disconnect. Whatever way it goes, it looks like change to us and changes is always top down.
