Caulfield Cup Racing Tips Review

Mer De Glace Caulfield Cup winner

MELBOURNE RACING TIPS REVIEW SATURDAY

Here is a quick snapshot of the weekend for our Melbourne Racing Tips followers as we steamroll through the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. It was the big Caulfield Cup Day as we move into the Cox Plate this weekend with 20 races in 24 hours over the Moonee Valley Racing Tips meetings Friday and Saturday. Then we are only 1 week away from the Melbourne Racing Tips Melbourne Cup Week at Flemington.

Of course the day also included in Sydney Racing Tips The Everest where a brilliant field of sprinters assembled in front of 40,000 strong Randwick Racing crowd for the worlds richest turf race.

MELBOURNE RACING TIPS – CAULFIELD REVIEW

We have made comment in each of our form sheets introduction these big race days are always competitive racing meaning two things:
a. winners can be at times harder to find but
b. at the same tine they are a lot more value so it counter balances.

Our man Pete Brinky produced 3 winners for the day including 2 value plays and a 2 unit strong bet. Pete kicked off the day with brilliant back to back winners, in the first Extreme Pride ($6) was one of his value plays it settled second off the hot speed and carted the field up to the tearaway leader hit the front in the straight and kept going for nice win. We also landed the quinella here paying $18.40. The second race of the day Pete was very keen on last start provincial winner Pretty Brazen ($3.20) who settled back in the field was 3 wide cover and then 1 off at the 800, tracked up beautifully to the turn and unleashed very nice turn of foot to win well.

Pete’s other winner for the day was a value Play on the winner of the Caulfield Cup the Japanese horse Mer De Glace, drew a terrible gate was taken back to second last by Lane, then tracked up from the 800m and put them away was strong to the line and depending on weight penalty received goes on to the Melbourne Racing Tips Melbourne Cup.

MELBOURNE RACING TIPS – CAULFIELD CUP

MER DE GLACE – Great win, went back from the bad gate tracked up behind them to the turn and really put them away was a nice strong effort, did have a lot go its way but still hard to travel from Japan and win these sort of races 1st up, looks primed for the Melbourne Cup doubtful would have another run between now and then is the $9.50 second fav for the Cup
VOW AND DECLARE – settled back and got going from the 800m swept up to the turn looking a hope kept finding the line and at just its second run back that will top it off for the Melbourne Cup another doubtful to have another run prior to cup is $12 for the big race
MIRAGE DANCER – had every chance enjoying great trailing run kept finding the line and a VERY solid first up look in Oz historically these overseas horses go ahead after one run is $34 for the Melbourne Cup
CONSTANTINOPLE – has tumbled into the Melbourne Racing Tips Melbourne Cup favourite at $7 on the back of its unlucky run here, had a good run in transit then copped BAD check at the 300 when looking like the winner, rebalanced and really found the line very nice.
FINCHERace favourite lost no admirers was wide no cover the first half of the race had some mid race cover them wide rushing around them from 800 moved up to hit lead at top of the straight fought on well, very brave effort unlikely to run before the cup is 3rd fav at $11.
MUSTAJEER – settled back with the winner and basically mirrored its moves, didn’t have the same turn of foot as Mer De Glace but really kept finding the line well. Is now into $17 for the Melbourne Racing Tips Melbourne Cup likely to be its next run
MR QUICKIE – played up a bit at the start and missed the kick but settled back with the winner in early part looked to be travelling to turn with no rom, got knocked over at the 300m rebalanced got to the outside and really found the line looked the unlucky runner to me and should they press on to Melbourne Cup wont disgrace itself, looked strong is $34 for the Melbourne Cup however could run in the Geelong Cup $10

VICTORIAN DERBY CHANCE

THOUGHT OF THAT – What a stunning effort this was in the Ladbrokes Stakes, led and broke there hearts and in a massive step tightened into clear second pic for the Victorian Derby ($4.20) Behind Shadow Hero. The horse won a Donald maiden by 8 lengths and bought that form and more to town toying with his rivals. The blinkers have done the trick with this guy certainly one to follow, and could be a 2020 cups horse

Yes Yes Yes The Everest winner

SYDNEY RACING TIPS – REVIEW

No doubt it was a tough day to find winners on the big Sydney race day. We got off to a good start with Our man Blaazing Ben Perkins managed to find a couple of winners and one of his Roughies of the day ($51) Fastnet Cyclone ran third paying $8 the place!!

Handle The Truth ($7.50) was a nice value from Blaazing Ben Perkins, the horse had a gun run in the 1×1 seat throughout and had luck at the right time was strong to the line after it’s luckless run last start. Bens other winner for the day was Happy Clapper ($3.70) the 9 year old who was wide early so a key decision by Tom Berry sent the horse forward in a quick move to take the lead the horse was held together at the top of the straight and kept fighting bravely the old boy for a fabulous win.

SYDNEY RACING TIPS – THE EVEREST

YES YES YES – Brilliant ride by Glenn Boss who said post race “The feeling equates to winning my third Melbourne Cup “ big statement. But what a punt to run the 3YO in this race all cudos to Waller for convincing connections it could be done. He straightened 6-7 lengths off the lead and powered on for famous victory, this colt is now worth $50 million minimum at stud!!! The horse has no doubt done enough this time in however there does remain the Coolmore on offer during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival Melbourne Cup Week (Group 1) 1200m Flemington on Derby Day and is currently the $3 fav for the race. Alternatively it’s a $6 against the older horses in the VRC Sprint Classic during.
SANTA ANA LANE – seemed to have its chance settled back with Yes Yes Yes  couldn’t quicken like the winner but really knuckled down late-very good run just not enough! Probably heads to Melbourne for the VRC Sprint Classic (Group 1) it’s the $3.50 fav
TREKKING – MASSIVE run from the roughie settled last and straightened last and unleashed HUGE sectionals in very nice effort, now the VRC Sprint is a chance is an $11 shot for the race
NATURE STRIP-VERY strong run, on pace made all the running from a wide draw and boxed on like a caged lion in the straight, in all honesty although it’s a Group 1 winner THIS was possibly it best ever run! Is on target to pull a top run in the VRC Sprint at Flemington ($7.50) or could run in next weeks Manikato ($7)
CLASSIQUE LEGEND – Without doubt the bad luck story of the race settled midfield and couldn’t get a crack at them was travelling as well, got out late and charged home. Unlucky now probably heads to the 1500m Golden Eagle is a $6 chance there.

SATURDAY RACING TIPS – THIS WEEK 20 RACES IN 24 HOURS

Our Melbourne Racing Tips Spring Carnival shifts venues with the big Moonee Valley Cox Plate Meeting next Saturday by the Melbourne Racing Tips Group 1 Manikato on Friday night. The Cox Plate is the 2 of the “Big 3” in a stunning month of racing during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. It is the weight for age championship of Australasian Racing and for the first time in 4 years we are going to have another winner (no WINX!!)

The race day is also a good chance for the 3yo’s in the Vase and the Fillies Classic to have their last hitouts before the Victorian Derby and Victorian Oaks at Flemington. Also with the “last ditch” attempt by runners to get a Melbourne Cup run or top of their campaigns the Moonee Valley Gold cup makes sure there is something for everyone.

Our Sydney Racing Tips Spring Carnival has a “relative” lull in its massive Sydney Spring Racing Tips Carnival with this meeting being the running of the inaugural $1 million Bondi Stakes.  The race day finds itself wedged in between the leviathan $14 million “The Everest” and the $7.5 Million “The Golden Eagle” meetings. The Sydney Racing Tips race day also includes 3 other  black type race the Group 3 Nivison stakes (1200m) the Listed Brian Crowley (1200m) and the Listed Tatts Cup (2400M).
