AFLX answer to 20/20

AFL 2018 20/20

AFL version of 20/20…AFLX

With the success of shortened versions of sports around the world (except in the U.S. where they love the long and big version of everything), it was inevitable that the AFL would go down the same path.

And so it is and the birth of AFLX and the AFL will be hoping it’s a success and their chance to further dominate the football landscape in Australia and in their eyes, the world.

Played on a rectangular field, this opens up a range of opportunities where AFL sized ovals are in short supply especially in the northern rugby states of NSW and Queensland and of course overseas.

AFL 2018 – Get Your Tips Now!

AFL tips and betting is now open as we have six teams playing in Adelaide Thursday night, six teams in Perth Friday night and another six in Sydney on Saturday night.

Odds for AFL tips and betting for Thursday nights games are as follows but we fail to see this version first up as a betting proposition. As a reasonable position, if you wanted to have a bet, you might favour sides playing teams that went deep into the finals on the basis that they would have had up to 4-6 six weeks extra pre season up their sleeve.

Mind you, most teams will play young so that doesn’t necessarily come into the equation.

AFLX Thursday nights games –
Port -3.5 v Geelong +3.5
Adelaide +6.5 v Collingwood -6.5
West Coast +4.5 v Port Adelaide -4.5
Collingwood -7.5 v West Coast
Geelong $1.90 v Fremantle $1.90
Port Adelaide $1.90 v Fremantle $1.90

Friday night AFLX teams in Melbourne are Carlton, Melbourne, Essendon, Hawthorn, North and St Kilda.

Saturday night AFLX teams in Sydney are GWS, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Richmond and Western Bulldogs.

We then move into the JLT series that runs February 24 until the 11 March, then the bye weekend of 17-18 March before the AFL Season 2018 kicks off on Thursday 22 March between AFL Premiers Richmond and Carlton at the MCG.
