AFL round 2 Collingwood v Richmond

AFL Betting Tips 2020

AFL Betting Tips season 2020 gets underway after the nearly 3 month delay because of COVID-19. As is the case with the NRL, there are no firm AFL Tips for this round as our HBM Human Behaviour Model requires at least one week of data for us to apply our analysis. We will provide match previews for all games for AFL Betting Tips round 2 and all the previews will be out Friday morning. This 2020 AFL Betting Season we will have all games and tips out by Thursday afternoon 4pm.  Welcome to the re commencement of AFL 2020.

COLLINGWOOD VS RICHMOND (MCG) – THURSDAY NIGHT AFL

The season restart gets underway to a blockbuster at the MCG. Collingwood and the Richmond face off for the first time since mid last year in a game that saw Richmond home by 32 points. These two sides had good wins in the opening round of the season all the way back in March and it will be an eerie feeling watching a big blockbuster game that would normally draw 100,000 played in an empty stadium.

We get the nice sample here as they have played each other 5 times in 2018 and 2019. This includes the 2018 Preliminary Final that Collingwood won. Although Richmond won their last game, Collingwood had beaten them at the 2 previous encounters. Richmond has won three of the last five head and all these games at the MCG given the blockbuster status. Average game score in these last five games has been 166 points per game. Collingwood has only kicked over 100 points in 1 of the last 5 head to heads. Richmond has the lowest score in the last five head to heads which is 58 points in the 2018 Prelim.

This shapes as a ripper and no its not ridiculous to think it could be a Grand Final preview. The line has been steady at -7.5 Richmond all week and it looks to be a close contest on all recent data but a no bet game.
