It must feel like a million years ago since this once powerful club looked to be powerful. Last year 2022 was just too bad to believe and not only did it contain losses BUT they were very bad losses. They do have talent and an excellent coach but it’s hard to see how there can be a strong immediate bounce into the finals. There would at the very least have to be a quantum improvement in intestinal fortitude AND the cauldron of Perth would have to once again be regained. The loss of club fav and big goal kicking forward Kennedy is a massive loss and hard to replace this 60-70 goals average per year. The downward trend has unfolded since the 2018 premiership and despite historically being a strong club it’s hard to know exactly what the lay of the land is. A return to a fortress at home would be a strong indicator of a return to glory days. The Eagles are 100-1 to win the flag, 41-1 to make the GF, 26-1 to make the top 4 and $7 to make the AFL finals.
