Melbourne Saturday Racing Tips  – Review Flemington

Front up, You only have to look at the feature race of the day the Makybe Diva Stakes going to a $126 outsider Gatting against the Melbourne Racing Tips Cox Plate favourite Mystic Journey to know it was one of those tough days in racing that pop up from time to time. It does happen, far from ideal but as they say that’s Racing! We have had a good run so will put our tail between our legs and bounce back as the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival and Sydney Spring Racing Carnival gets into action.

It was a perfect day of weather for Saturday Racing Tips Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes day at Flemington with every horse getting its chance no major track bias evident, however the straight track races they avoided the inside like the plague and came down the middle and outside rail so there were some hard luck bias stories from those events.

2 Best Bet winners in a tough days Racing

Our man Pete Brinky landed 3 winners for the day, 2 of those were his 3 Unit Best bet plays but all in all a tough day at the office. Rox The Castle ($3.30) was a 3 Unit Best Special was able to control the race outside the leader had a nice kick on the turn and was strong to the line for a nice win.

Pete also landed the smart Dalasan a 3 unit best bet play and he was very impressive doing all of the work and really winning softly on the line. Is certainly on the rise and has tightened into the favourite for the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Guineas ($5). The other winner for the day was a value bet on Zoutori, it drew deep and came down the outside rail which looked to be the superior going by that stage of the day. So whilst the win looked good going forward it may need to be tempered by a length or so given the bias advantage.

Makybe Diva Stakes

From the Melbourne Racing Tips Makybe Diva Stakes, we review the main chances of the day and the winner.

GATTING – had a soft run 2nd throughout but had a big lift in rating to take out a race like this. The WA performer who had been battling at listed and Group level in the West fair to say its had its day in the sun!!
MYSTIC JOURNEY – had every possible chance, looked a grinding effort only and condition looked to give out at the 150m. Perhaps that is the month between runs and 2nd up to 1600m would need a big fitness kick out of that but still holds Melbourne Racing Tips Cox Plate favouritism.
MR QUICKIE – was the run of the race and has come back in fantastic fashion. Settled near the back and had no luck early in the straight before powering home when clearly was tightened. Into $10 favourite for the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Cup on that run and $15 for the Cox Plate.
HARTNELL – raced back in the field 3 wide cover and put in another honest race just a real good honest and good horse, was good again. Deserves another one soon
YUCATAN – was a grinding effort at best had easy run midfield the fence and got into its work late looked like needed the run
SCALES OF JUSTICE – had the run outside the speed hit the lead early in the straight and despite its race fitness weakened the last bit this class.

Sydney Racing Tips – Review Rosehill

Here is a from our Saturday Racing Tips last weekend for our Sydney Racing Tips as the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival continued. We had the running of 3 Group 2 races on the day the Run To The Rose, the Theo Marks and the Sheraco Stakes. The rail was out 6 metres and there did seem a slight advantage to closer to the pace horses through the day.

Sydney Racing Tips – 5 winners for the day

Our man Blaazing Ben Perkins had 5 winners for the day however many fancied runners just did not deliver on the day. Of The Blaazing Ones winners included the $10 Gaytari and the $11 shot Just Thinkin.

Shock Alert ($2.90) was our top selections in race 2, sat outside the leader and hit the front early in the straight was challenged and headed by Humbolt but really dug in well for a strong win. Gaytari ($10) was our second selection in race 4, made a quick move at the 600m and was strong to the line chasing down the short priced fav Dabiyr. Gaytari was rated $8 in our pricing so a nice overs.

Blaazing Ben also found Just Thinkin ($11) as a rough chance stating in his asessement if it’s a leaders day it’s a rough hope and he was spot on. It lead all of the way.

Bivouac ($4) was able to bounce back to form as well and trounced the fav. Sat outside the lead and showed a lightning turn of speed much more like its first up run and went on for good win. Although short, Ben also found the winner of the Theo Marks Stakes Arcadia Queen ($1.95) and she certainly showed she is on target for the Sydney Racing Tips The Everest in winning strong on the line.

Melbourne Saturday Racing Tips – This week

Our Melbourne Racing Tips Spring Carnival heads to Caulfield this week with the running of the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m). This race gives us a great insight to the sprinter/miler hopes in the upcoming Melbourne Racing Tips Spring Carnival with feature races like the Toorak Handicap (1600m) and even the Caulfield Guineas. The race day is supported by the Group 3 How Now Stakes for the mares run over 1200m giving them some great opportunity for some black type for the breeding barn. We also see the Group 3 MRC Foundation Cup (formerly the Naturalism Stakes) where we see Melbourne Spring Racing Tips Carnival Caulfield and Melbourne Cup hopefuls step out.

Sydney Saturday Racing Tips – This week

Our Sydney Racing Tips Carnival heads to Royal Randwick for the running of the Group 1 George Main Colgate Optic White Stakes (1600m) and this race is a terrific form line pointer to the Epsom Handicap in a fortnight’s time. The race day also includes the running of the Group 2 The Shorts (1100m) with the inform sprinters from the Concorde or “The Heath” at the Valley. We also see the running of the third leg of the “princess series” with the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes for the 3 year old fillies and is the perfect lead up to the Group 1 Flight stakes in a fortnights time.
