Saturday Racing Tips – review last week

It was a brilliant day of Saturday Racing Tips last weekend when we saw the new star of the turf, Russian Camelot stamp his brilliance for the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. It was the Melbourne Racing Tips Underwood Stakes meeting at Caulfield and Russian Camelot put on quite the show as a 3 unit BEST BET. It is on forward to the Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup. The Sydney Racing Tips meeting at Rosehill featured the Golden Rose for the 3 year olds and a win for the Hawkes trained Ole Kirk. The big disappointment was Rothfire breaking down for this season. We now move onto a massive Saturday Racing Tips this week from Randwick and Flemington.

Melbourne Racing – Russian Camelot Cox Plate fav

Russian Camelot raced into the Melbourne racing tips Cox Plate favouritism ($3.50) with a big display in the Underwood Stakes last week. The horse really did as it wanted sat outside pace took lead early in straight and put them away. It was a nice follow up from its 4 wide no cover run the start before. Danny O’Brien declared him the “best horse I have ever had anything to do with” and there is going to be further improvement out of that run. The plan is to run him in the Caulfield Stakes and back up a week later in the Cox Plate before onto the Melbourne Cup. The run of Humidor out of the race was superb. Settled back made very good ground in worst part of track and he to is on target for a Cox Plate start. Gailo Chop was also seen taking ground off the winner and is ticking over nicely.

Melbourne Racing – dominant Thousand Guineas hope

Instant Celebrity trimmed right up in the Melbourne Racing Tips Thousand Guineas betting into the $2.50 fav after a dominant display in the Prelude. The filly who was unbeaten in its three Adelaide starts went to another level sitting back then looping the field to the turn took lead early in straight and was powerful to the line. Ecumenical was 100-1 on the weekend and ran super was 4 wide no cover the whole way and still coming strongly again at the end. You could do worse than take some of the $21 on offer for the Thousand Guineas at Caulfield in 2 weeks time and she will take big improvement from that run.

Caulfield Guineas Prelude

Crosshaven the winner of the race is only on the 5th line of betting ($9) for the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Guineas. Guineas fav is Ole Kirk ($5) who was strong taking out the Golden Rose at Rosehill last Saturday as part of the Sydney Racing Tips Spring Carnival and the Hawkes trained Ole Kirk looks a nice horse. Second fav is Glenfiddich ($6.50) who won at the Valley on Friday night and who Peter Moody declared “this horse will go on and win the Guineas and then who knows we might head to a Cox Plate”. You just don’t hear Pete speak like this, very hard to beat. Crosshave winner of the Guineas Prelude sat near pace and was too strong but it didn’t scream to be Guineas fav, In fact the run of the race was clearly Aysar who settled back and charged home it could be a value play ay $34 for the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Guineas.

Sydney Racing Tips – Ole Kirk looks a 3 year old crown

Ole Kirk sent his price tag into the $20 million bracket after the well bred Hawkes trained colt chalked up classic Group 1 win in the Sydney Racing Tips Golden Rose. The hot fav Rothfire worked early and stopped in the straight and he has broken a sesamoid bone in the race and will now be on the sidelines for at least 12 months.

Ole Kirk raced into the $5 fav for the Melbourne Racing tips Caulfield Guineas with the Hawkes team also supplying North Pacific to the 4th line of Guineas betting ($6.50) after it was the quinella with Ole Kirk. These two horses showed great turn of acceleration and are well on target for the 1600m Group 1 as part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. The other horse that ran very well out of the race was Kings Legacy and he’s coming to hand at the right time and at $9 looks a solid each way chance the Caulfield Guineas.

Sydney Racing – Subpoenaed to the Golden Eagle

Finally the talented mare Subpoenaed saluted in a Group race to bring here some nice value as a broodmare after being the bridesmaid many a time. She was ridden differently to take out the Sydney Racing Tips Golden Pendant holding a much more forward position it proved a tactical bonanza. Post race Chris Waller confirmed she is on target for the Golden Eagle but she is still an amazing $26 chance in the race. The fav out of the Golden Pendant Haut Brion Her raced deep and was beaten a fair way out, a disappointing result as we had her a 3 unit Best Bet. The horse to follow out of the race is Positive Peace , for the second run in a row she was badly held up and really charged to the line late, she is ready to win.

Saturday Racing Tips – this week

It is a massive day of Sydney Racing Tips this week with the Group 1 Epsom Handicap over 1600m and the 2400m Metropolitan. Both are massive races as part of the Sydney Racing Tips Spring Carnival. We have Melbourne Racing Tips meetings from Moonee Valley Friday night and a massive Group 1 Turnbull Stakes at Flemington Saturday as the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival really gets into full swing.
