RICHMOND SEASON 2023

Years in Finals – 4
Top 4 appearances – 3
Grand Finals – 2
Premierships – 2
Richmond is looking to regenerate its list to again provide an assault on another top 4 finish and AFL premiership. This is a club that won 3 recent premierships and in all likelihood coughed up another. Richmond is a changed club from that of a decade ago when they were a basket case. A swashbuckling Coach, excellent administration, massive fan base and a game style of “chaos football” with a playing group who can execute. If any club can regenerate it is this one. Dusty is their star and there may be question marks over his capacity. At the same time a freshen up may see him emerge as a new player. They do have ageing players but at the same time are introducing a younger group. The Richmond chart shows that the peak has been had. Two years of consolidation, one in the 8 and one out is likely to see another season around the same mark. You could mount an argument for a peak but we don’t think it’s this year, more work to be done at this point. They are however likely to have a highly motivated coach who can push his charges with great effect to continue to get numbers ahead of the ball in attacking style. There is likely a doubling down of this game style so look to Richmond to score but also be score against.
Richmond are 8-1 to win the premiership, $4 to make the Grand Final, $2.25 to make the top 4 and $1.25 to make the top 8.
