COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB

Years in Finals – 4
Top 4 appearances – 3
Grand Finals – 1
Premierships – 0
It is only some 5 years ago when Collingwood lost what looked early in the game to be a premiership all but theirs, in a single digit loss to West Coast. Buckley’s time was up as Coach in 2021 and he moved on AND a new fresh start with Craig McRae. Eddie moved on, the Board had major changes, the Pertman went as CEO and a completely new off field group results in a re-energised Collingwood. McRae’s more relaxed inclusive style seemed to suit Collingwood in 2022 and were one game off a Grand Final spot. The irony of this single digit loss was Collingwood’s remarkable ability to win close games in 2022, 9 times in fact a single digit win. Whether this can be repeated is problematic and that is what the market will be looking for. Finals appearances in 4 of the last 5 years is testimony to Collingwood’s consistency and an expectation that another top 4 finish is beckoning with a push to the 2023 Grand Final. Collingwood are 5th on the line of betting to win the 2023 Grand Final at $9.50, $5 to make the Grand Final, $3 to make the top 4 and $1.60 to make the 8.
