For the last 13 years the Feehan Stakes has been run under the name “The Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes” as of 2019 the race will revert to its registered name the Feehan stakes.

It is a Group 2 weight for age race run over 1600m at Moonee Valley Racecourse. It has become a real watch and assess race from a Melbourne Spring Racing Tips Carnival perspective. Many horses out of this race go on to run well or win some of the big features over the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival in races like the Cox Plate, Caulfield Cup and The Melbourne Cup.
