Melbourne Racing tips – there can be no Mystic over her Journey
Bring on the Cox Plate 2019! That is the Journey for Mystic Journey after her stunning win in the first running of the All Star Mile at Flemington racecourse last Saturday. She was smashed in the betting, an avalanche of cash for the filly who had beaten the colts at Group 1 level only a fortnight before her big win on Saturday.
In the Australian Guineas the fortnight prior she had a soft run showed a very good turn of foot and drew away being very strong to the line against the boys but to see what she did to the older horses on Saturday had special written all over it.
She sat three wide no cover the whole way and they were really running early , she certainly liked being in clear room but she was working hard, then just to amble up at the 150 after being wide all of the way and charge away from serious horses had champion written all over it.
This is what racing is all about, everyone has a shot at the dream. She was an $11,000 purchase and has now amassed $3.5 million in prize money and if she stays sound we haven’t seen a thing yet. Mystic Journey has so much more to give and the ease she dominated with Saturday is almost inexplicable. The Cox Plate awaits and she has it at her mercy.
One of the other good runs out of the race was Hartnell he had a nice run but got blocked when happy clapper couldn’t go on he really attacked the line when he got clear and looks a coming winner.

Sydney Racing Tips – Whistling Dixie
Reith “blew the whistle” and the mare sailed to group 1 glory…well it was almost that simple. The way the track was playing leading up to the Group 1 Coolmore at Rosehill racecourse the rail didn’t appear the place to be so no wonder Dixie Blossoms was a drifter in the betting.
But one thing the rain did was even the whole field up and she is a mare who can handle the conditions. Reith rode her brilliantly and fate would play a nice part in her win as well he was sneaking rails runs all the way through the race then on the turn he looked to push into the clear he ws shunted back in but al that did was push him into a gap where he got the run on the mare and she drew away with authority-marveloous win and Quinton wins his 4thas a trainer.
Golden Slipper tips – this Saturday 23 March
The Pago Pago and the Magic Knight have traditionally not produced a big number of Golden Slipper tips winners. Cosmic Force was very dominant on a heavy 10 and yes it does make the Microphone form look good but it also lets us know if the Slipper is a bog track he can get thru it but a Slipper is won by a horse on the up.
Kiamichi won the Magic Knight Stakes, actually her dad Sidestep won the Pago Pago and then was placed in the Golden Slipper so there is some family history, but with the powerful Godolphin having probably seven in the final race Kiamichi would not rank in their top four so I would suggest there is some work ahead for her if she was to back up and win

Sydney Racing tips – Verry Elleegant thank you!
After being purchased from NZ to go to the Weir stable with a chance to win a big Melbourne race as fate would have it she found herself in Sydney for the Phar Lap Stakes and duly saluted and every chance to keep progressing.
Waller has done a marvellous job of getting her to settle she was a bit of a head case and pulled ferociously but she may just be ready to step up now. We will know more when Waller steps her to the 2000m of the Vinery Stud Stakes but she still has ability we haven’t seen so there is some chance she can be a serious Caulfield Cup horse in the Melbourne Racing tips Spring Carnival if she keeps racing tractably.
