It was Makybe Diva Stakes Day at Flemington as the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival really starts to fire up. Great racing at Rosehill Sydney Racing Tips as well for the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival. But it was at Flemington Melbourne Racing Tips where the action was as we saw the Cox Plate market turned on its head.
Pride of Jenni versus Mr Brightside
Teriffic race the Makybe Diva and the result turned the Cox Plate market on it’s head. Mr Brightside and Pride Of Jenni put on a stunning display and the last 200m was riveting. The old campaigner Mr Brightside eventually chased down the strident gutsy Pride Of Jenni AND both showed they are back to their best.
Pride Of Jenni firmed form $9 into $5 equal fav for the Cox Plate and Mr Brightside trimmed in from $10 into $6.Â
The big flop out of the race was Via Sistina the Cox plate fav heading into the race drifted bigtime from $4 out to $8. The horse raced flat but we suspect its highly vulnerable on strong speed races. The former European seems to be able to run blinding sectionals off a slow speed (as we saw first up) but can’t seem to replicate on strong tempo (as seen in its last 2 clashes with Pride Of Jenni).

ROSEHILL – STORM BOYÂ
Beaten by .3 length and was a HUGE effort by this horse. Missed the kick (which we have seen before by him) then the jock panicked using a STACK of fuel. Storm Boy can really respond on the back of that and is $13 for The Everest BLACK BOOKER

ROSEHILL – OSTRAKAÂ
Our girl Annabel trains this one AND this one JUMPED at us hat for the Carnival. what a MASSIVE win by this horse, settled back and then picked them up and put them away with blinding speed. It was so strong through the line and is a BLACK BOOKER for us. Came into Golden Eagle calculations on the back of that trimming from $101 into $11
