Melbourne Racing Cox Plate Day Review

Here is a quick snapshot of the weekend for our Melbourne Racing Tips followers as we steamroll through the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. It was the big Cox Plate day at Moonee Valley on the back of their Friday night Group 1 meeting the Manikato.

It was the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival that saw the running of a brand new race the $1 million Bondi Stakes for the 3YO and builds to a big weekend next week with the running of the $7.5 million Golden Eagle. Another big day of Sydney Racing Tips from our man Blaazing Ben Perkins tipping 5 winners for the day and all were his top rated picks. This included a 3 unit Best Bet winner with the brilliant Kubrick winning the Bondi Stakes.

We now head to the biggest week of the year in the Melbourne Racing Tips calendar the Melbourne Cup week. Next weeks racing kicks off with Saturday Racing Tips for Derby Day as follows:
Saturday 2 November – Derby Day
Tuesday 5 November – Melbourne Cup Day
Thursday 7 November – Oaks Day
Saturday 9 November – Mackinnon Stakes Day

Loving Gabby home at $11 and Parsafil a 3 unit BEST BET WIN

It all kicked off Friday night in the Manikato Stakes where we tipped 2 winners from our 3 tips for the evening.  We had Bivouac as a best bet in the G1 Manikato but had Loving Gabby as the danger and value bet and got home at $11. We also had Parsafil as a 3 unit BEST BET and got home in an impressive win $2.90.

A Filly to watch for the Autumn Racing

A nice day for our man Pete Brinky tipping 6 winners for the day including a 3 UNIT BEST BET in the Cox Plate and a $17. Pete kicked off the day with Fascino ($4.60). Pete followed this up with a brilliant $17 value bet as Broadwayandfourth ($17) came with a big finish along the rails to get over the top of them and power away to the line it was a step up in class that it handled sensationally.  Looked a filly with some real scope charged to the line and shapes as though she may get up to a mile as well you can follow with confidence and you would think will develop into a lovely Autumn Filly.

Value bet big shortener for the Victorian Derby

Our Saturday Melbourne Racing Tips found Soul Patch ($4.80) as a value bet and it was a charmed ride by Dunn who settled back and let it unfold before taking closer order from the 600m and this horse showed a brilliant turn of foot and charged into second fav ($3.50) for next weeks Victoria Derby.

Cox Plate winner a 3 unit Best Bet

Our Expert Melbourne Racing Tips analyst Pete Brinky saved his best for the big one making the Japanese horse Lys Gracieux his 3 Unit Best Bet for the day in the Cox Plate. This horse absolutely blew them away, settled back from the poor gate and started picking them off from the 500m looked a class above and pocketed the $2 million bonus in the process.

Another value bet from our man Pete Brinky was Sartorial Splendour ($3.40) this was never in doubt as it led controlled and finally saluted after being beaten fav at its previous runs. Pete topped off a ripping day by finding the last winner Amangiri who led them up set a strong pace and looked under siege on the turn but fought like a caged lion to win and all in all a really good day for subscribers as we move to the big Melbourne Cup week.

Melbourne Racing Tips Cox Plate review – horse by horse

LYS GRACIEUX – settled back Damian Lane has had a ripping Spring Carnival gave this the charmed ride improved with cover down the side wobbled a bit on the turn but once knuckled down was VERY evident that she had a bigger motor than the rest of them and pocketed the $2 million bonus in the process.
CASTELVECCHIO – jumped well had a nice run midfield had some tightening mid race then Williams really got rolling a long way from home with the light weight looked the winner straightene\ing just lacked the seasoned hardness of the overseas contender
TE AKAU SHARK- Ran a bottler, had to go back to last from the bad gate Bosson rode for luck and got it down the side by the school, railed the ears of them to the turn kept battling well, and probably in inferior ground as well
MYSTIC JOURNEY – really had her chance the one time fav for the race, Trinder gave her a great just off speed run and she didn’t have the acceleration required at this level late
AVILIUS – another who was given every chance another who was a one time fav, it was an even effort kept grinding to the line ok

Kubrick – Bondi Stakes winner

Sydney Racing Tips review

5 first selection winners

It began with But I Know ($6) who settled back near the tail over raced a bit then moved up four wide no cover to go on for a strong win was too good for them. Diamond Thunder ($3.20) showed a lot of character to take out the next race for Blaazing Ben, was on pace then restrained then bumped heavily on the home turn but pushed on hard for very nice win, certainly a horse with scope going forward.

The favourite took the next Greyworm ($2.05) another on top pick for Ben it led dictated and was far to good for them! Master of wine ($2.20) was Bens top pick in the staying race and after a few worrying moments early (wide) was able to slot in and then came with a brilliant run from the 600m and stretched right away from them looks a staying star of the future. The feature race was the $1 Million Bondi Stakes and yet again our man Blaazing Ben had his eye in again with Kubrik ($3.80) proving too strong after a great ride from Avdulla, had the sweet run on the fence and apart from a few nervy moments on the turn when slightly held up once he got the gap he pushed on hard and the blinkers on kept him strong to the line. Another brilliant days work from our man Blaazing Ben Perkins.

Melbourne Racing Tips Spring Carnival

Our Melbourne Racing Tips Spring Carnival shifts venues with the big 4 day Flemington Melbourne Cup Carnival getting underway next Saturday with Victoria Derby day, then its backed up on Tuesday by the most famous days racing in Australia the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday. Two days later up to 100,000 people will return for “Ladies Day” with the running of the Oaks on the Thursday culminating in the final day of the Flemington Melbourne Cup Day the Mackinnon Stakes.

Sydney Spring Racing Carnival – Golden Eagle

Our Sydney Racing Tips Spring Carnival unveils its new big thing with the running of the brand new $7.5 million The Golden Eagle for 4 year olds only this is the brand new race created by Racing New South Wales and they have put it to go head to head with the Victoria Derby. a gutsy move, but from what we have seen when they coupled “The Everest” against the Caulfield Cup it really turned out to be a good thing for racing with both meetings producing bonanza turnover.  We are really looking forward to the field that assembles with Brutal the current $3.80.
