The highlight stat of round 19 was the high scoring. After a lack lustre 52-52 Friday night draw between Richmond and Freo, AFL teams really turned it on for the weekend. Total points for games as follows:

Brisbane v Gold Coast 203 points
Bulldogs v Melbourne 210 points
Sydney v Adelaide 203 points
North v Hawthorn 196 points
At the same time the Sunday AFL games were relatively lack lustre like the Friday night games with 144, 156 and 152 total points for these 3 games. The AFL ladder provides plenty of food for thought with 10 teams now in finals contention:

Port and Gold Coast will now both miss the top 8. Port had a golden chance, were 30 odd points down got 2 goals up then had 10 entries and 1 goal in Q4 v Geelong. Equally Gold Coast had its chance but could not get it done v Brisbane.
Richmond has two weeks in a row had a player with the ball inside 50 who could have chosen to have a set shot only to play on and end up not having a shot on goal and not won both games WTF!
Essendon were 37 points down, got 20 points up then threw the game against Collingwood who has now won its last 9 games and has won 8 games by less than 2 goals.
