AFL Season 2023 Bulldogs

Years in Finals – 4
Top 4 appearances – 1
Grand Finals – 1
Premierships – 0
There was a moment half way through the third quarter in the 2021 Grand Final when the Dogs went a couple of goals up and it looked 2016 all over again. However Melbourne then put the metal down and simply belted the Dogs in the last quarter of this final. Last year reflected the effect of a demoralising Grand Final loss the year prior and the Dogs whilst making the finals did not get their famous handball and contested game going. There is a huge question mark over this group and coach and if the win-loss ratio goes against Beveridge sparks may fly. However they have also been very resilient over a long period and history says they can consolidate a position before bouncing again. They have talent, seem to have shored up their defense and the forward line has tall pillars that may look dangerous. Bontempelli is an excellent captain, Beveridge can coach. A model of consistency are the Bulldogs but of all the recent consistent clubs, this one looks the most vulnerable and a slide down the table highly likely. The Dogs are 15-1 to win the flag, $10 to make the Grand Final, $4 to make top 4 and a $1.90 to make the finals.
