Racing Tips Review Spring Carnival

Persan races his way into the Melbourne Cup 2020

SPRING RACING CARNIVAL TIPS ACTION

The Melbourne Racing Tips Spring Carnival and the Sydney Racing Tips Carnival are both in full swing as we head toward the Melbourne Cup 2020 in early November. October will see the running of the Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate in Melbourne and The Everest and Golden Eagle in Sydney amongst a host of Group Racing.

We review last weeks Saturday Racing Tips meetings at Flemington and Randwick and add the new “Horses to Watch” in our race analysis. These are ideal Blackbookers for those that follow our Saturday Racing Tips and the Futures betting markets.

SATURDAY RACING TIPS – LAST WEEK

Melbourne Racing Tips Expert Analyst Pete Brinky had a nice value day for subscribers at Flemington last Saturday with 5 winners. Amongst them were BEST BET winner September Run in race 2 and Verry Elleegant was the top selection winning the Turnbull. Riddle Me That was a value selection winning race 3 at $16 as as Persan winner race 6 at $12 and Thermosphere was the top selection in race 5 winning at $3.50.

5 winners for Blaazxing Ben at Randwick headed by BEST BET Athiri winning the last and Ben included value chance selections Libertini $13 and Montefilia $11 upsetting favs to win feature races on the day. Value Victor at Morphettville had 4 winners to round out a nice day of betting.

CHRIS WALLER – A DAY OUT

Chris Wallers Spring Racing Carnival looks even brighter all of a sudden as he trained the Trifecta of the Melbourne Racing Tips Group 1 Turnbull Stakes. Verry Elleegant won the race in a driving finish and is now the favourite for the Caulfield Cup at $7. Finche was also a very big run as he did work mid race. Then he was 4 wide no cover before the turn and he went stride for stride with the winner. He looks some nice value at the $15 on offer for the Caulfield Cup. No doubt the big surprise of the race was Toffee Tongue and the mare was super at her first real crack against the “Big Boys” so to speak sneaking through on rail and looking tough. It was slashed into $19 for the Caulfield Cup.

The 2 best runs from a Melbourne Cup perspective were Surprise Baby as it never really got clear in the straight until the 200m and then worked to the line well.  Warning was really hitting its straps late screaming out for the 2 miles.

MELBOURNE CUP – HERE WE COME PERSAN

There was a spot in the Melbourne Racing Tips Melbourne Cup up for grabs with the winner of the Bart Cummings Classic at Flemington Saturday being exempt from ballot. The winner Persan was a 100-1 pop for the Melbourne Cup but after being guaranteed entry with the win in the Bart Cummings its odds were slashed into $34.  Persan had the gun run and given every chance but it has made large strides this preparation in a brilliant training effort by Maher and Eustace to have it Melbourne Cup qualified.

The two best runs in the race were Steel Prince it was 3 wide no cover then 4 wide no cover from the 1000m still grinding hard at the end (50-1 in the Melbourne Cup). The German horse Schabau got a long way out of its ground and really found the line is currently a 40-1 in the Melbourne Cup. The disappointment of the race was Shared Ambition which had every hope and just looked to struggle to run out a strong 2500m.

THE EVEREST – LIBERTINI STARS NATURE STRIP FLOPS

Chaos is now reigning over the Sydney Racing Tips The Everest as Libertini destroyed the fav Nature Strip in the Premiere Stakes at Randwick last Saturday. It was lightning acceleration that had The Everest written all over when Libertini was ridden cold and unloaded a big run winning eased down. With 2 slots in the Everest available she will no doubt have a deal done early in the week and firmed from $34 into $8 for The Everest.

There are now real issues with Nature Strip, a big drifter in The Everest Sydney Racing Tips Betting market from fav at $3.50 out to $8. The desire of the stable to try and hold the horse back to field seems an error and they need to let the horse run at high speed to break the oppos heart. Classique Legend was another good run, but on that effort its hard to see how it turns the tables on Libertini who is likely to gain a nice fitness kick out of the run so it has some improvement.

EPSOM HANDICAP – IT’S ALL PROBABEEL

Probabeel stepped up in the most stunning of ways to take out the Sydney Racing Tips Epsom Handicap. It was a tough win after sitting 3 wide no cover the trip and there were no excuses for the defeated. The lure is there of the $7.5 million Golden Eagle, a race that looks well within its keeping against its own age, However it seems that the owners who are heavily involved in the breeding game want to pursue a Cox Plate start. Obviously the prestige is there with the Cox Plate however a cheque of $7.5 million is also very enticing. There wasn’t a lot to follow out of the race, Funstar ran its usual honest race and is certainly on target for the Golden Eagle currently $10 in the market.

CAULFIELD CUP – MIRAGE DANCER CUP FROM METROP WIN

Mirage Dancer raced strongly into contention for both the Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield and Melbourne Cups with a stylish win in the Metropolian at Royal Randwick last Saturday. It was a text book ride by Rawiller who was glowing of the horses efforts and nailed him down as a contender In the two big ones. Currently a $21 Caulfield Cup hope it may be over the odds, depending if it is allocated a penalty for winning the Metropolitan. It is also $31 for the Melbourne Cup and looks juicy odds if it can reproduce what we saw on Saturday. The fav out of the race Mugatoo lost no admirers but has been a drifter out to $26 for the Caulfield Cup. Without a doubt the run of the race was Brimham Rocks as it got posted 3 deep no cover the entire race and was 4-5 wide to the turn. It fought on like a caged lion and was very good is currently $151 for the Caulfield Cup.
