Racing Tips 7 winners last Saturday

Odeum wins the Thousand Guineas at Caulfield

Saturday Racing Tips – 7 Melbourne Racing winners

What a day of Saturday Racing Tips last weekend as we head to this weeks Caulfield Cup for Melbourne Racing Tips and the $15 million The Everest for Sydney Racing Tips. Our man in Melbourne Racing Tips Pete Brinky landed 7 winners for subscribers including Ole Kirk, Arcadia Queen and Odeum in the Group 1 races. Pete also landed 4 of 5 BEST BET winners for the day. Blaazing Ben Perkins landed 6 winners in Sydney Racing Tips and our Saturday Bets service came home with 4 winners. Lets have a look at our review of Saturday Racing Tips including our new horses to watch analysis.

Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Guineas – Ole Kirk wins

We may have seen the last of Melbourne Racing Tips Caulfield Guineas winner Ole’ Kirk. Ole Kirk was a 3 unit BEST BET from Melbourne Racing Tips analyst Pete Brinky and it was a masterful ride by Pike.

The horse positioned midfield the fence early then looked like being held up. Pike eased then went back to the rail he weaved like magic to get the horse onto the back of Aysar who was travelling like the winner. Pike held his nerve and then went straight past Aysar to win narrowly leaving Team Hawkes to declare him the best 3 year old of his generation. The horse has Black Caviar as a relation so as a sire they now come no more desirable than this Ole Kirk. He is now worth north of $50 Million. There weren’t a lot of excuses out of the beaten brigade but from a Victorian Derby perspective really like the run of Mo’unga who is not currently in the Derby markets. The other good run was Lunar Fox currently at $34 for the Derby.

Melbourne Racing Thousand Guineas – Odeum gets home

Oduem was a nice overlay value bet for subscribers from our Expert Melbourne Racing Tips analyst Pete Brinky at Caulfield in the Thousand Guineas. We commented how joint favs Hungry Heart and Instant Celebrity were the 2 form horses. However we saw neither as value hence our recommendation to subscribers that Odeum was the bet.

As we have seen happen all to often the Sydney 3 year old’s are perceived to have the stronger form, yet when they come to Caulfield and the pressure is on it can be a real graveyard. So it was again for Hungry Heart on the weekend who never looked comfortable that way of going. The winner Odeum was a great story for former NZ jockey Michael Walker, it was his only ride for the day quite unbelievable a jock of his talents. He gave Odeum the charmed ride getting her out on the turn and she really had a nice turn of speed and was strong to the line, Ecumenical was a herculean run again trapped 4 wide no cover again yet fought hard and you can follow her if she heads to the Wakeful. The other favoured horse Instant Celebrity had every hope finished the race off nicely and now looking for further. Also like the way Agreeable found the line from an Oaks perspective.

Melbourne Racing Russian Camelot – beaten fav in Caulfield Stakes

It was a big upset when Arcadia Queen ran straight past Cox Plate fav Russian Camelot to go on and win the Melbourne Racing Tips Group 1 Caulfield Stakes with the greatest of ease. Arcadia Queen was slashed from 12-1 into $5.50 second fav for the Cox Plate. Once again WA jockey Pike was to the fore having an absolute picnic in the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. The race itself was a sit sprint affair and Russian Camelot didn’t respond well to that he was a little flat footed with no turn of acceleration to match Arcadia Queen its fair to say this was more like a mile race than a testing 2000m. There is no doubt there will be a lot more heat in the kitchen in the Cox Plate and this will absolutely play into Russian Camelot’s hands. he is clearly the superior stayer, so he still deserves billing as Cox Plate fav but now he looks more vulnerable than he did before Saturdays race.

Sydney Racing Tips Spring Champion Stakes – Montefilia

Montefila picked up her second Group 1 in a week winning the Sydney Racing Tips Spring Champion Stakes. She did it with the style that would see connections surely take her to Melbourne for the Melbourne Racing Tips Victoria Oaks where she is now the raging $4 fav. She is such a calm and relaxed horse and showed she can take the work backing up after her Group 1 last week and putting them away with nice class. Lions Roar was a nice effort grabbed on the line but beat the rest easily, not sure where they go with it next as is not currently in Oaks market.

Melbourne Racing Toorak Handicap – Mr Quickie gets the job done

Mr Quickie returned to the winners circle taking out the Melbourne Racing Tips Group 1 Toorak Handicap. After being luckless in the Caulfield Cup last year (arguably should’ve won) it looked the target to take him there again. However he put in a shocker in the Underwood (1800m) and Stokes abandoned plans to push on any further to the Caulfield Cup. Instead a freshen and back to the 1600m was the secret. In a gem of a ride by Jamie Kah he slotted midfield fence and clear at the top of the straight and despite the 59kg accelerated nicely for good win. The run of the race was clearly Age Of Chivalry, sat 4 wide no cover and kept battling well, it had be on me next start written all over it, its not clear where he would go next.

Sydney Racing Tips Golden Eagle – Flit beats the Alligator

Flit was superb in taking out the Sydney Racing Tips Silver Eagle almost a year to the day from when she won the Thousand Guineas last year. It was a brilliant ride by Rachel King she tracked the fav Alligator Blood and moved past him putting him away with ease, her odds were slashed from $51 into $9 second fav for the Golden Eagle but is still behind Alligator Blood in the market. On the weekends run its hard to see how Alligator Blood turns the tables on Flit in the big one. Perhaps the market is a bit more reflective of Flit possibly not running in the Golden Eagle with Cummings looking to Melbourne wanting to possibly run in the Group 1 Empire Rose on Derby Day over the 1600m. He may see this a more lucrative long term play with the Group 1 adding greater value to her as a broodmare.
