Mo’unga looks a Star of the Autumn Carnival
Autumn Racing Carnival 2021
It was a terrific Saturday Racing Tips day last Saturday to springboard us into this years Autumn Racing Carnival. We had the Melbourne Racing Tips Group 1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington along with the CS Hayes Stakes. At Randwick for Sydney Racing Tips it was the Southern Cross, Light Fingers and the Apollo Stakes all Group 2’s to round out a big day of Saturday Racing Tips.
This weeks Saturday Racing Tips action is at Caulfield for Melbourne Racing Tips. It is a Super Saturday at Caulfield with three Group 1 races including the Blue Diamond Stakes for the 2 year olds. The Blue Diamond is of course the precursor to the Sydney Racing Tips Golden Slipper, the world’s richest 2 year old thoroughbred race. We also have the 1400m Futurity Stakes and the 1100m Oakleigh Plate to round off a big day of Racing.
In Sydney Racing we have the Silver Slipper of 1100m for the 2 year olds and the Millie Fox over 1300m. Racing in Adelaide Racing, Brisbane Racing and Saturday Best Bets, the best of the best round out this Saturdays Racing 20th February.
Racing Last Week – highlights
Melbourne Racing Tips Lighting Stakes –
Nature Strip was back in winning form with jockey of the moment Jamie Kah on board steering to a Group 1 win. Jamie added a bug plus to her fast growing reputation and allowed Nature Strip to do what he wants.
That said September Run was our Expert Melbourne Racing Tips analyst Pete Brinky’s second pick (behind disappointing Bivouac). 30 metres longer and September Run wins and as a result of that run has been crunched into $2.50 fav for the Newmarket Handicap over 1200m on the 6th March.
Sydney Racing Tips Apollo Stakes –
Everything had its chance in the race with both Verry Elleegant and Mugatoo the runs of the race. We are waiting to see if Mugatoo gets a run in the All Star Mile whilst Verry Ellegant will be targeted to the Queen Elizabeth Stakes after one more run.
Hayes Stakes
Tagaloa back in winning form in the Hayes Stakes at Flemington for the 3 year olds. It had every chance but was very strong and now on track for the Australian Guineas on the 27th February and a 5-1 fav.
Mo’unga was our Expert Racing Tips analyst Pete Brinky’s second selection and clearly the run of the race. It ran 3 wide no cover then ambled up nice and strong in the last 100 metres to finish third (our top select Aysar ran second). It is onto the Australian Guineas where it is 11-1 or the Sydney Racing Rosehill Guineas where it is crunched from 25-1 to 8-1. Brando was a $4.40 fav and a total forget run 4 wide no cover so give another chance.
