Racing review 100-1 place getter

Mizzy runs second at 100-1 in the Canterbury Stakes

Saturday Racing Tips review

It was a difficult days betting for Super Saturday Racing Tips last Saturday from Flemington, Randwick and Morphettville. Melbourne Racing Tips featured the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap and Australian Cup whilst Sydney Racing Tips we had the Group 1 Randwick Guineas and the Canterbury Stakes. We also had a two major 2 year olds races as we prepare for the Golden Slipper in a fortnights time.

Sydney Racing Tips – 100-1 tip finishing second

Our days betting was largely saved by our selection of Mizzy who finished runner up at 100-1 in the Canterbury Stakes over 1300m. Mizzy featured in a selection in our Sydney Racing Tips form sheet. We also included the selection as our Best Roughie chance in our Saturday Best Bets tips service in the update Saturday morning. Our Saturday Best Bets not only includes our Best of the Best tips from around the country but we also provide Best Each Way Bet and Best Roughie. Here is what we said about 100-1 Best Roughie chance and Sydney Racing Tips selection Mizzy:

“On Blue Diamond day Mizzy was one of our horses to follow next start out of Oakleigh Plate. Raced 8 wide no cover and still kept finding the line even after the jockey sat up last 50m. Was clearly going to get a great fitness kick out of race and it was one the number crunches wouldn’t pick up, in fact no one did (except us).

Mizzy got to the line strongly and just missed beating Savitiano on the post. A $100 pay day just missed on the line but still a big each way $18 place result.

Melbourne Racing Tips Review

The 2000m Australian Cup was a real roughies affair with Homesman the winner at 31-1, Best of Days second 27-1 and Chapada third at 41-1. The winner was a big price after being placed in Peter Young Stakes

The 1200m Newmarket Handicap had a 20-1 winner in Zoutori. The second horse Indian Pacific was 21-1 and Amish Boy third at 100-1. The winner made a big jump in form to win, not totally unexpected with its straight form.  September Run felt the big time pressure in open age group at Group 1. The 3 year old filly didn’t cope and was under pressure at 400m and despite her brilliance this was like an 17 year old footballer against older men.

Sydney Racing – review

Sydney races 2 and 3 were the Golden Slipper trials with race 2 the best runs were Profiteer and Stay Inside, with Anamoe pretty good as well. Profiteer was huge to be able to battle on after pulling so hard. Hopefully has learnt it’s lesson and can relax for the Golden Slipper. Stay Inside was badly held up at a crucial stage in the race and found the line, still a winning hope. Anamoe had the race run to suit and hit the line well, but did have every hope.

Race 3 were the best runs were Swift Witness and Trifacia both made good ground against a slow tempo. Glistening (winner) had every chance in the lead and given they went nearly a second slower you would doubt it could win.

Race 7 was the Randwick Guineas and the winner Lions Roar another roughie paying 26-1. Winner Lions Roar really got under the guard, was runner up in the Spring Champion in the Spring and was badly held up resuming. Put in a peak run 2nd up and still probably some improvement. Mo’unga certainty beaten and rockets into Rosehill Guineas as a big shortener and a  $3 fav. Aegon looked uncomfortable Bowman reported probably wants sting out of ground, they are looking to abort 3 year old races and go to Doncaster Handicap over 1600m.

Race 5 was the Challenge Stakes and the return to Sydney of Nature Strip after a big Melbourne win. The winner was Eduardo who was our Sydney Racing Tips man Blaazxing Ben second selection and a nice $9 winner. Edueardo fought hard like a caged lion to outkick Nature Strip. This is a real concern for Nature Strip as its not the first time the horses has found the front then kicked back to be beaten. He prefers the run not be in a dogfight. Both of these two go onto the 1100m Galaxy and both on the third line of betting
