Saturday Racing Tips Review 25th June

The winners were there but to some degree you had to go hunting for them in Saturday Racing Tips last Saturday. We had racing from Caulfield, Randwick, Morphettville and the G1 Tatts Tiara at Eagle Farm last Saturday as we come to the end of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival. The days betting was largely built around Morphettville where our analyst Value Victor had come up with a BIG value form sheet. Our summary of Morphettville is below along with other results from Saturdays Racing.
NO BRAG ADELAIDE…LOOKING FOR LADY LUCK!!
It was one of those days in Adelaide Racing at Morphettville as two of our “roughies” were scratched and 3 of our TOP PICKS featured HEAVILY in the stewards report in a negative way. It’s important to know that horses are “athletes” and like many other athletes they suffer from physical problems some of which aren’t noticeable until race pressure presents. We include the stewards reports here for your reference not to offer any excuse but so you can grasp an understanding as to why our top picks failed to run to expectations.
PRINCE OF FENCES (T. Pannell) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer, Hickmott, was advised that a Veterinary Clearance was required prior to a future trial or race start.
Summary: Obviously our BEST BET lame, when they are sore they simply can’t run!!
CHOSEN BLONDE (J. Toeroek) – a post-race veterinary examination revealed speedy cuts to both hind legs.
Summary: A “speedy cut” is when a horse is moving its legs quickly and they knock or cut themselves generally with the horseshoe itself can be painful so don’t see their best
ONE MORE TRY (B. Vorster) – slow to begin rider reported the mare never travelled during the event, was off the bridle and disappointing in its finishing effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
Summary: obviously in a mood from the get go, the fact a vet examination didn’t find anything indicates either mentally it didn’t want a bar of racing today OR when it cools down tomorrow something will be found
Melbourne Racing with Pete Brinky
CARDINAL IS A GEM!!
Our BEST BET Cardinal Gem dominated them, sat midfield peeled wide halfway through the race was 4 wide on the home turn and let down for VERY nice strong win follow with confidence BLACK BOOKER
D’aigular at 5-1 another nice win in our Melbourne racing tips, at NO STAGE did the horse ever travel or look like it was going to win. You would’ve thrown your ticket away 20 times I the race but we see it lob on the line was a brave effort!!! BLACK BOOKER
Brisbane and Sydney Racing
EARLY BIRD GETS BRISBANE WORM!!
We got the saver cash with our $6 TOP PICK in the opener in Brissie, sat back last peeled around them with some nice venom from the 500m and was brave in a dogfight with the second horse down the straight. It was VERY Good against pace bias. Other winners for the day were Titanium ($7.50) and the quinella in the third with Our Intrigue/Rebel Roma (who was rated $4.80 paid $13 as the saver versus the fav.)
DOUBLE ODDS WINNER SYDNEY!!
Pandora Blue was a NICE double figure winner for us in Sydney (rated $6 pays $10). It was a CHARMED ride settled 3rd had the great off speed run and out toughed. Prince Invincible late in the day was a solid win along with 3 other winners for the day in Sydney!!
