Melbourne Racing Tips – 5 winners last Saturday
5 winners last Saturday on Caulfield Guineas day in our Melbourne Racing tips in what was a spectacular days Racing in the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.
Winners in our Melbourne Racing tips from Caulfield Saturday were Iconoclasm $2.90, Sunlight $2.40, Winter Bride a 3 star Best Bet $4.80, Amphitrite $12.60 and The Autumn Sun $1.85.
The Autumn Sun was a 3 star Melbourne Racing tips Best Bet for us and validated his short quote and superstar status with an emphatic win in Guineas. It is disappointing he’s no going to the Cox Plate as he would’ve given Winx a run for her money and we threw him up as a Melbourne Spring Stable Star at $51 six weeks ago to see him come into $26 then after the Guineas $13 but connections look like they will not race him.
Yucatan was the winner of the 2400m Herbert Power Stakes and wow what a win. Qualified for the Caulfield Cup and believed to be going there and in the process has been installed as $4.50 favourite. Not sure about European horses on quick back up but hard to ignore Saturdays win. Eased down on the line and could’ve won by 6 or 7 lengths.
Benbalt was another big winner with a gutsy win on debut in Australia in Caulfield Stakes and looks main danger to Winx in Cox Plate. Now in to $10 for the Cox Plate as second favourite behind Winx $1.25 and Humidor is the other runner from the weekend with Cox Plate viewpoint with an honest effort in the Caulfield Stakes and sits third in Melbourne Racing tips betting at $13.
Winter Bride was a terrific Melbourne Racing tips 3 star Best Bet in winning and an above average mare building impressive strike rate. Fought back strong to win on weekend. Has another win in her in similar grade.
Amphritite was a big value Saturday racing tips winner for us our rated price $9.50 got out to $12.60 and proved the best at the mile in Thousand Guineas for the fillies, coming from well back to win. Looks the obvious top pick for Oaks if they decide to go there and is now $4 favourite for the big race in Melbourne Cup week. Is unbeaten at all 4 runs this prep. Smart Melody the favourite either didn’t get the mile or had enough this prep and she is going to the paddock.
Other fancied runners were Unforgotten and D’argento with Unforgotten disappointing in the Caulfield Stakes and will probably be freshened up for Myer Classic on Derby day. D`argento got home ok for 5th but beaten reasonable margin.
