Melbourne Racing Tips Pete “STRIKE RATE” Brinky with 7 winners at Flemington 

The Auries Star Stakes in Melbourne Saturday Racing Tips last weekend signalled to us that the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is just around the corner. And so it was with a top day at Flemington with BIG results with our man Pete “strike rate” Brinky with Expert Top Melbourne Racing Tips. 7 winners for the day led by the brilliant Hosier as a BEST BET and the heavily backed D’aguilar winning the last at Flemington.   

We opened up with Race 1 and Schabau getting home over the 2540m. Schabau ($3.40) who was second up and lead all of the way in a terrific front running ride. You will find Schabau at long odds in the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup futures markets.

It continued in race 2 with Sunfall ($5.50) settling back and steaming over the top for a nice win after it’s strong win at Geelong. Top pick in race 3 was Zorros Dream ($8.50) sat in behind and got a nice split at the 200m. It was nice and strong at the finish making it the first 3 of the day for Pete.

Miss Albania ($5) was another inspired selection from Pete as second select in race 4. It came right down the outside (which was arguable worse ground) to nail the leader right on the line. 

Groundswell ($4.40) was another nice selection by Pete at Flemington in race 6. Having its first run since the Brisbane Carnival and was able to lead all of the way showing some nice fight the last 50m. We also landed the quinella and trifecta in race 6.

Melbourne Racing Tips Race 7 – Hosier the spruik horse

The spruik horse of the late winter has been Hosier who was a BEST BET at Flemington, who despite winning ($1.60) was possibly exposed. Hosier raced erratically and needs blinkers by the looks. It may also be an indication its toward the end of its preparation. It will be interesting to see if horse race owner guru, the astute Lloyd Williams pulls the plug now to let the horse mature. 

To top off the big day Pete found the last winner D’aguilar ($3.60) who buttered up with another win after its nice first up run at Sandown. We also landed the Quaddie paying $226.

The Auries Star was the feature race of the Melbourne Racing tips day and was taken out by The Astrologist. It keeps it’s great straight track record in tact. This horse is now being aimed at the Group 1 Darley on Emirates Day and he deserves the shot. 

Sydney Racing Tips 

Phobetor caused somewhat of an “upset” win in the Group 2 Missile Stakes producing the trainer Michael Costas biggest win. It was yet again another example of hard race fitness being a nice edge particularly in these early spring lead up races. Phobetor was fit and the trainer has hit a real purple patch of form. He was a former steward/trainer and Costa knew the importance of giving the jockey confidence. Telling Berry NOT to underestimate this horse today as he was “ready” was sound advise. Camped in behind the speed of Fasika (1st up) and with the star Kolding outside the lead (1st Up) Berry waited his time. He pushed Kolding out the way and gathered in the leader in a nice strong win to the line. It’s always hard to get a gauge on these early races with the differing fitness levels but Costa is keen to pursue some bigger races.

Adelaide Racing Tips – BIG Quinella result 

Adelaide Racing had a nice opening to the day with Free of Debt ($9.50) winning. Value Victor also finding the quinella with Brimarvi Vehero paying $15.50. These two horses on paper clearly had a fitness edge on the competition and so it turned out. They were nice and strong the last 50m whilst the others were tired.
