Melbourne Racing Tips – Melbourne Cup Day, Flemington – UPDATE
Welcome to Melbourne Cup Day 2021 with iTipsports Racing and our Melbourne Racing Tips analyst Pete Brinky. First things first, please have a betting bank and a pre meeting plan for the day. If you are going to a lunch or to the races and are having a drink, stick to your plan. If you are losing, do not chase during the course of the day. Stick to your plan, even better put your bets on before you go to your function. We feel the winners are on the form sheet but fields are big and luck in running is crucial.
There are 3 BEST BETS and 7 Strong Bets on the form sheet. Lord Vladistock is our BEST of the day along with Incentivise in the Cup and Curran in the last. Grand Promenade is an each way chance in the Cup straight out of our e-book credentials. The quaddie we have had to go wide in the last leg, a notoriously tough race. There are too many unknowns with early 2yr old race and watching on.
Race 2
N8 Wil John 1 unit saver $5 hurdler who goes good on flat as well and suited out to 2800m after last start Caulfield win at 2400m.
N10 Accountability 1 unit saver $5 has won 2 in a row in NSW before placing at Caulfield last time out and in the mix again here.
Late Mail: we have the winner coming from these two, no screaming value but if you are happy to take the unders both 2 unit win bets.
Race 3
N3 Housay 2 unit STRONG BET $3 lightly raced 5yr old who hasn’t raced since winning down the straight here in January but has good ability and strike rate.
N1 Not to be Mist 1 unit value $8 former WA galloper better for 2 runs here and comes from astute stable and can improve on last start ordinary run after nice first up effort.
Late Mail: Housay well supported 2 units saver on Not to be Mist.
Race 4
N7 Lord Vladistock 3 UNIT BEST BET $4 Adelaide visitor comes here after placing in Murray Bridge Cup and beat similar line up last prep in G3 grade at Morphettville. Looks well placed by good stable.
N1 Best of Days value $7 class runner of field but gets weight to match. At best could overcome weight disadvantage and get the prize.
N9 Groovy Kinda Love 1 unit value $6.50 unlucky first up at provincial before bolting in at Ballarat last time out, up in grade but looks promising.
Late Mail: Lord Vladistock is our best bet of the day, looks well placed whilst we save on Best of Days and Groovy Kinda Love.
Race 5
N11 Frankie Pinot 2 unit STRONG BET $4 Sandown winner 3 runs back and placed twice since without a lot of luck. Looks suited at weights and will get to the outside and be strong late.
N7 Pindarick 1 unit value bet $8 lightly raced Adelaide raider winner of six from seven including all the way win at Morphettville first up couple weeks ago.
N2 Regardsmaree 1 unit value $12 been up for a while but nice third at the valley last start and better suited here at bigger track.
N12 Crestani 1 unit value $13 also been up for a while but still going good on last start Geelong win and draws to get soft run.
Late Mail: we are backing all four and outlaying 5 units for a result here, Frankie Pinot looks well placed, Pindarick is an Adelaide raider whilst Crestani and Regardsmaree both nice value overs.
Race 6
N1 Profiteer 2 unit STRONG BET $3 top 2yr old from last season fitter for 2 runs this prep in top grade and looks ready to win in this easier assignment.
N4 Enthaar 2 unit STRONG BET $4 speedy filly who also was one of the better 2yr olds last season and expecting bold showing first up here.
Late Mail: we have the winner coming from these two, no screaming value, perhaps boxed quinella.
Race 7 – MELBOURNE CUP
N2 Incentivise 3 UNIT BEST BET $2.50 hard to tip against rising star of turf, bolted in when winning Caulfield Cup last time out and one to beat again.
N16 Grand Promenade 1 unit value $16 up and coming stayer comes here after easy win in traditional lead up race over 2500m and gets in with no weight.
N22 Floating Artist 1 unit value $15 snuck into the field at last minute and can figure on luckless second in Valley Gold Cup and also has no weight
Late Mail: hard to believe Incentivise was a maiden back in April, quite remarkable. Caulfield Cup win was brilliant, shortest Cup fav since Phar Lap if gets the run to suit wins. Grand Promenade and Floating Artist both light weight chances at odds. Twilight Payment and Spanish Mission make up the boxed trifecta.

Race 8
N10 April Rain 2 unit STRONG BET $4 lightly raced Sydney mare with good strike rate back home and looks suited here from soft draw.
N11 Promise of Success 2 unit STRONG BET $3.50 another Sydney mare going well back home and also draws to get the favours.
N6 Agreeable 1 unit value bet $9 looks to have come up good this prep running second first up before winning at Caulfield and suited by big track.
Late Mail: April Rain and Promise of Success both well supported and backing both 2 units with a saver on Agreeable nice overs.
Race 9
N6 Spirit of Gaylard 2 unit STRONG BET $4 missed a run in Derby Saturday when emergency and on fast finishing 5th in good grade at the Valley last start would’ve been a rough hope. Faces easier assignment here and could be nice consolation.
N9 Oenology 1 unit value bet $10 bolted in at Bendigo last start and looks promising type suited at distance.
N14 Maracana 1 unit saver $7 got too far back when third at the valley on cox plate day and bigger track should suit better here.
Late Mail: we are keen on Spirit of Gaylard as a 2 unit strong bet, Maracana is the danger strongly supported and Oenology is 10-1 into 7-12.
Race 10
N10 Curran 3 UNIT BEST BET $4 good win first up at the valley before getting home late to run third at Caulfield on Cup day. Is a winner at track and trip and in well at weights.
N5 Express Pass 1 unit value bet $12 drops in grade after midfield finish in Mankato and is a winner down the straight earlier this prep.
N14 Quantico 1 unit saver $6 came from well back to salute at Randwick last start and building terrific strike rate.
Late Mail: the last is always tough but we think Curran is well placed as a 3 unit BEST BET. Quantico is the danger and Express Pass is a nice 1 unit overlay value saver.
