Melbourne Horse Racing Carnival

Melbourne Cup Carnival review

It was a fantastic Melbourne Spring Racing Carnivaland thanks for being part of our Melbourne Racing Tipsand Sydney Racing tipspackages for the broader Carnival or Cup week. We have provided a briefing review on the major races of the Carnival with some observations and an eye to the future as we go into the Melbourne and Sydney Racing tips summer season and then from late January to April the fantastic Melbourne and Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

Melbourne Racing tips Melbourne Cup 2019 –

Cross Counter was a terrific winner of the 2019 Melbourne Cup after nearly getting knocked out of race by The Cliffsofmoher who was sadly put down with second place to Marmelo and third to A Prince of Yarran.

Marmelo as runner up was very good as well with big weight and also coming from well back in field and of the locals Youngstar the best and will be better next year with more experience.

Going forward for the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup for that matter, it is going to be hard to go past the Internationals. They have won the past two Melbourne Cups without a run in Australia and both have been these northern hemisphere 3yr olds who have beaten the handicapper and got in with light weight. Unless the handicappers re rate these horses or we find a local WInx that can run 3200m, the Internationals may be the way to go. What odds the Internationals field all the places in the Cup some point in the future!

In looking ahead to the 2019 Melbourne Cup, this years winner Cross Counter and Victoria Derby winner Extra Brut are amongst a number of horses as $21 equal favourites…only 11 months and 1 week to go!

Melbourne Racing tips Cox Plate 2019

Winx was too good as expected to win her fourth consecutive Cox Plate with Benbatl good in placing second but no match for the winner. Would’ve been interesting if The Autumn Sun had taken her on, with the weight advantage he would’ve had.

Of course the million dollar question is will Winx run in the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival and possibly go for a fifth Cox Plate in the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival of 2019? If she was ours (we wish!!)  We probably would’ve retired her after her record breaking fourth Cox Plate.  But unfortunately she’s not ours and we now await for trainer Chris Waller and connections to wait for her Christmas spell in the paddock before announcing 2019 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival plans or retirement.

iTipsports is of the view it should be “cue in the rack” for the great mare, retain the unbeaten 29 wins in a row record on the back of 21 Group 1 wins and prize money of $20 million, that would do it we think!  Winx is currently $3 favourite in early betting for the 2019 Cox Plate and has been installed as a $1.80 favourite for the newly created All Star Mile over 1600m in the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival.

Melbourne Racing tips Victoria Derby 2019

Extra Brut too good and backed it up with terrific third in Mackinnon Stakes on the last day of the Melbourne Racing tips Spring Carnival at WFA level. Aramayo run well after a poor ride sitting three deep all the way.

Aramayo and Extra Brut now look set for the 2400m ATC Derby over the Sydney Autumn Spring Racing Carnival 2019 and success over the Autumn would see these two Cauflield and Flemington bound for the big Cups in the Melbourne Racing tips Spring Racing Carnival 2019.

Extra Brut has been installed as equal favourite for both the Melbourne Cup and the Caulfield Cup next Spring.

Melbourne Racing tips Caulfield Cup 2019

Was a Melbourne Racing tips Spring Carnival nightmare with the difficulty of the on pace bias.  Kings Will Dream nearly fell at start and had no hope after that but still finished on good. The winner Best Solution had good European form and wasn’t hard to have.

Youngstar best of the closers finishing seventh but having the best closing sectionals in what we thought was an excellent Melbourne Cup trial where she performed creditably and we look for her runs in either the Melbourne Racing tips Australian Cup in March at Flemington or the big races up to 2000m in the Sydney Racing tips Autumn Racing Carnival.

Melbourne Racing tips Victoria Oaks

The winner Aristia was most professional and stayed best of the main chances. Verry Elegant still very immature and will be a lot better next time in. Amphritite failed to stay coming off a 1600m run and all three fillies will now look to the big Melbourne Racing tips and Sydney Racing tips Autumn Carnivals.

Melbourne Racing tips Caulfield Guineas

The Autumn Star was a brilliant winner of the Caulfield Guineas and any race over the 1600m to 2400m distances for Melbourne Racing Tips and Sydney Racing tips Autumn and Spring Carnivals he appears to be a star. The Autumn Sun is second favourite at $7 for the Cox Plate and looms as a star for the forthcoming Autumn Carnival and next Spring Racing Carnival with the newly created All Star Mile over 1600m in the Autumn appearing to be the likely destination in the Autumn Racing as well as the Australian Guineas.
