Behemoth – another massive win
Saturday Racing Tips – review last Saturday
It was a terrific day in what was an excellent day of Saturday Racing Tips last week as the Spring Racing Carnival’s enters full swing. Melbourne Racing Tips with expert analyst Pete Brinky had a winning day with 6 winners including Behemoth and Best Bet winner OrderoftheGrater. Saturday Best Bet Racing Tips from our analyst around the country delivered 5 winners including Best Each Way winner Beaufort Park at $7.50 and Sydney Racing Tips Best Bet Giselle. The Spring Racing Carnival is in full swing and what a Carnival it will be.
Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes – Behemoth where to next
It was the top selection of Expert Melbourne Racing Tips Analyst Pete Brinky in the Group 1 race in Saturday Racing Tips. And so it was for Behemoth in a dominant win by the big horse to carry 60kg at Group 1 level. He put them way with ease after looking not much hope at the 300m mark and it was a big win being throttled down.
The Everest – is it awaiting Behemoth
The big question is where to next and no doubt the horse deserves a shot at Sydney Racing Tips The Everest. However the fate will be in the hands of slot holders who have not yet committed to a runner and they may want to wait until the final moment before declaring their hand. Jolly can possibly wait for this outcome as the horse is nice and hard fit now. If it didn’t go to The Everest the obvious move would be the Cantala Stakes now on Derby Day at Flemington during Melbourne Cup week. The 1600m of this race would suit superbly given the strength the horse showed in Saturdays win. There were some horses to follow from the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes:
Dollar for Dollar was third up looked the winner, led and gave huge sight is hard fit and ready.
Madam Rouge flashed home late really finding the line the last 100m and a big hope wherever Waller decides to go next start
Tagaloa was a huge run was 3 deep no cover then 4 deep no cover when the burn was on, battled hard very nicely.
Superstorm, Mandella Effect and Reykjavik all all got cluttered for room and the beaten margin is unfair so likely to be value next runs
Orderofthegarter wins Caulfield Cup start
It was a Melbourne Racing Tips 3 unit Best Bet from our Melbourne Racing Tips Analyst Pete Brinky with Orderofthegarter winning at Caulfield. By winning the Melbourne Racing Foundation Cup Orderofthegarter has now qualified to run in the Caulfield Cup and with 50kg on its back it has firmed into the $11 favourite. It is in the right stable with master staying trainer Danny O’Brien and the big task now will be finding a top line jockey who can ride at the weight. Admittedly it had every hope in the run and wasn’t super impressive but is sure to get a lift in fitness out of its first win in 3 years.
There were some nice runs in behind the winner as well with Chapada rocketing hard late and is $67 for the Caulfield Cup. The other one that worked home well was Mustajeer really finding the line late and it is currently $51 for the Caulfield Cup. It was possibly a nice Melbourne Cup trial as well currently $67 for the great race.
Thousand Guineas on track – 3 year old filly Odeum
Odeum took out the 3 year old fillies race at Caulfield last Saturday, however it was the horses behind it that look the testing material. On the back of the win Odeum has firmed into $12 for the Melbourne Racing Tips Thousand Guineas. Really liked the runs of two run on horses in the race. Aidensfield just peaked on its run at the 100m but it showed the best turn of foot in the race, the other one was Agreeable, got a long way out of its ground.
George Main Stakes – Kolding gets home
Last years Sydney Racing Tips Epsom Handicap winner Kolding may not defend the title despite winning the traditional lead up the George Main Stakes at Randwick. Admittedly it had every hope in the run and fell in and that may be why Waller is a little wary of heading there. But due to lack of options in Melbourne he may end up heading there anyway. Without doubt the run of the race was Star Of The Seas. It’s a supreme handicapper and is a great horse to be on in the Epsom Handicap in a couple of weeks time. It’s 2 runs back have been enormous. Verry Elleegant was unlucky in the run, it got out and found the line ok, now probably heads to Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival to run in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington. No doubt Avilius was the disappointment of the race showing nothing after a sensational effort last start.
The Shorts Sprint – Classique shortens
Classique Legend has tightened right up for the Sydney Racing Tips The Everest charging from $11 into $6 equal 2nd pick (with Rothfire) after it’s The Shorts win at Randwick. Nature Strip is still the $4 fav for the race but Classique Legend is well and truly on track. Settled back in the ruck early got clear in the straight and unleashed a devastating turn of speed that will have the rivals wary for the big one and will lap up the 1200m. Whilst its hard to see anything behind Classique turning the tables however Bivouac raced 3 and 4 wide no cover and overaced early it could certainly spike next run.  Catalyst was terrible out of the race, had the gun run the run presented and couldn’t take it-must have had some thing wrong as we await the vets report.
Taikomochi takes the Kingston Town
All honours were with the winner as Taikomochi who took out the Kingston Town at Randwick. It was his fifth run back and had a serious fitness edge on a few rivals and going forward it will take a big effort for him to hold off a couple of horses who were super from a Metropolitan perspective. Shared Ambition was a monster run, she was well back took off and wide at the 600m unleashed a powerful sprint just ran out of condition late and you can follow it with great confidence going forward into the Metropolitan. The other horse that stood out was Rondinella really got into its work in the straight and was super strong through the line will take benefit from that going forward and $26 looks a massive price in the Metropolitan.
