If St Kilda has the best coach in the AFL (in our opinion) Hawthorn has the most ambitious. Sam Mitchell in our observations is over the top super driven and is trying to drive the Hawks on a path that is a self obsessed single strategy to greatness. He may well be right but there is going to be plenty of pain in the process. Moving on experienced players and going through the draft to reclimb the table is always a strategy fraught with danger in our view. But that is what Mitchell is doing and it appears he is the key driver to this, not the club. He would want to be right. A definite wooden spoon contender, how ironic with Clarkson and Mitchell both with teams very likely at the foot of the AFL table. Hawthorn are 150-1 to win the AFL Flag, 50-1 to make the Grand Final, 34-1 for top 4 and 15-1 to make the AFL Finals.
