Thousand Guineas – Caulfield racecourse
The Group 1 Thousand Guineas is a race for three year old fillies run over 1600m at the Caulfield racecourse as part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. The Thousand Guineas has prize money of $1 million and is run on Wednesday 13 October. It will be the feature race of our limited form analysis for this Melbourne Racing Tips meeting. This is part of the two week Caulfield Spring Racing Carnival as part of the broader Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. There is only 1 other Group 1 mile race for the girls (the Group 1 Flight Stakes in Sydney). Many fillies lead into this race either through the Caulfield Guineas Prelude or historically the Edward Manifold Stakes. The Fillies that really come through this well would progress down the path to the VRC Oaks on the Thursday after Melbourne Cup Day. Oaks Day is commonly referred to as Ladies Day and in a non COVID year would pull a massive crowd during Melbourne Cup Carnival Week.
