AFL ROUND 5 BETTING TIPS REVIEW
It was another weekend of big AFL Betting Tips as the season rolls along. We end AFL Round 5 with two teams, Bulldogs and Melbourne undefeated top of table on 5-0 and one side, North Melbourne bottom on 0-5. That leaves 15 sides between 3-1 and 1-2 that looms as a very different 2021 AFL season.
We had nice AFL betting results with Brisbane -37.5 WIN, Fremantle +7.5 WIN and Port Adelaide -8.5 and $1.60 WIN. We missed on Hawthorn who were in front at Q3 time and got rolled 8 goals to 1 in the final quarter and Sydney who had led all day but got nutted late in the game. Gold Coast were a big +37.5 line but were outclassed by the Bulldogs.
The bet of the round was Port Adelaide who we tipped at -8.5 and $1.60 win. By the start of the game Carlton’s odds had shortened and it was even money Port and Carlton. We can only imagine that the market thought Port a risk with players out and the game went as we thought. Carlton were just terrible and Port strong a nice result for us.
At Q3 time of the Hawthorn and Melbourne our bet Hawthorn were within striking distance with the score 42-52 in a tight low scoring contest on a +27.5 line. Melbourne then had a 8 goal to 1 final quarter and the Hawks and our bet down the toilet. Melbourne is now on a massive 5 game peak performance run as they come up against Richmond.
The Gold Coast was a big +37.5 in its battle against top of table Bulldogs on a double peak run. However the Gold Coast were monstered by the 5-0 Dogs now on a triple game peak performance run.
We liked Brisbane on a -24.5 line looking to their return to the Gabba against Essendon who were off a double peak run. Brisbane was a comfortable winner in a 102-45 win.
Sydney were a -16.5 and $1.45 win bet for us and led for all except 3 minutes of the game against GWS. Sydney went down by 2 points thanks to a last minute stoppage goal for GWS and Josh Kelly. Do yourself a favour and watch how NOT to defend at as stoppage as Sydney just let Kelly go to kick the winning goal. A shot after the siren fell short for Sydney and despite a 5 goal Buddy haul it was a GWS win.
We were keen on Fremantle at +7.5 on the back of a double peak run of Adelaide Crows who had gotten ahead of themselves. It was low scoring affair but Fremantle got the better of Adelaide and Tex Walker in the second half for a good 84-74 win and line cover bet for us.
The AFL Round 5 reverted to low scores as against the high scoring backdrop we have seen this season. The AFL coaches will work it out, they always do so despite the faster high scoring game be ready for tighter low scoring games as we saw on the weekend.
