AFL 2016 intro

Welcome to iTipsports AFL 2016.

Our service is primarily to help you win this years office footy tipping competition. That will be the basis of our service and for 2016 it is FREE.
However we also will be providing information for those that like to have a bet.
We have been running a betting model on certain sports throughout 2015 and 2016.
The sports we have run the model on have characteristics within their sport of high frequency of games and physical contact impact.
The NBA and EPL are sports that have demonstrated these characteristics.
Whilst the AFL does not have the level of frequency of games of these sports, what is does have (after the NFL) is physical impact more than any other sport in the world.
Couple this up with the amount of running in an AFL game and we have a game that fits within our modelling.
Further, the key KPI areas we use within the sport demonstrate to us that most teams, on any given day, have the ability to beat each other.
So, now we need to look for value that the bookies put up (or lack of value).
Line betting will be principally our preferred betting style and where we see value we will add a win bet.
Our recommended betting model would be 4:1, that is $4 to every $1 bet on handicap to win.
So depending on your betting bank or your outlay on a given game, if you had a bet on one of our handicap/win bets, it would be say $20/$5 as an example.
Remember, there is no guarantee of winning on sports betting…it needs discipline and persistence. You should also do so responsibly and within your means. And, never chase losses.
What we have concluded in preparation to the 2016 AFL season is that given the rule change related to interchange over the Summer, we think this season could be a close one.
But, we are looking for value, and we are in the hands of the bookies in relation to what they put up and our determination of value relative to this.
Another area we look at is peak performance. You see, we believe that very few teams can maintain on a weekly basis peak performance, so we look at the variables around those peak performances.
So thats it, welcome to iTipsports AFL.
Our tips are sent out late Thursday afternoons (they will be out by lunchtime this weekend because of Easter).
