The Everest Early Preview

The Everest is the major feature race this Sydney Saturday Racing Tips at Randwick racecourse. It has been billed as a one act affair for a while with Nature Strip at the top of the betting at $1.90. There is no doubt he is the one to beat but the market looks to be a bit thin with him. On a value basis the $7.50 Lost And Running is VERY appealing. After failing in the race last year the horse has come back more mature and ready its last 2 efforts have been OUTSTANDING. Jaquinot has to come into calculations with its blistering finish to win the Golden Rose last start. This race has a VERY short history so it is hard to get good historical data but NO DOUBT the 3 year old angle that saw Yes Yes Yes successful has been overplayed in Jacquinot’s case and it looks somewhat under’s to us. Private Eye currently $16 could possibly be a blowout hope as was VERY good winning the Gilgai first up down the straight. For us $1.90 is difficult to take on Nature Strip and we will be stripping through the field looking for value.

Caulfield Cup Early Preview

The Caulfield Cup will be the major feature race in Melbourne Racing Tips this Saturday. The market has really been turned on its head by recent performances Smokin Romans win in the Turnbull saw it tighten from $21 into $4.50 fav. This is quite a strong move but the horse really has made great improvement and the Caulfield Cup winner of the last 2 years has won the Turnbull so it’s good lead in form. Benaud was another who shot up the chart after his good run behind Anamoe and co and they put the Blinkers on him. He really found the line late in a top class race and he was $15 into $7.50 second fav. One we have had our eye on is. Nonconformist as watching the replay he went EVERY BIT as well as Benaud yet no market support. He has just been ticking along nicely at WFA level will LOVE the drop back to the Handicap conditions and look for a BIG peak run from the Caulfield Cup place getter from last year. Maybe the one to keep an eye on from a Melbourne Cup perspective is Montefilia. She was poor last start but her target all along has been the Melbourne Cup (big drifter now out to $41 for Cup) but she may just bounce here and put her hand up for the cup certainly one to keep an eye on.
