We Review Caulfield Guineas Day

Anamoe now a $2.20 fav for the Cox Plate next weekend

What a weekend of Group 1 racing, quite outstanding really as Caulfield Guineas Day did not let us down. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the Silver Eagle meeting at Randwick which was abandoned at race 6. The rain along the eastern seaboard had play havoc on race courses and as punters we wanted to give you some back ground to this. We review the Racing Tips results, come up with our famous BLACK BOOKERS as we look to the Caulfield Cup and The Everest this weekend at Caulfield and Randwick.

Beware the HEAVY tracks

The heavy tracks are quite frankly playing havoc with racecourses around the country at present, case in point the meeting at Randwick yesterday cancelled after race 6. In Sydney they must be in a state of angst around what to do with the big The Everest and other key meetings for October.

When you have someone of the experience and calibre of John Hawkes saying “with these type of heavy tracks you just don’t know how the horses will respond” you have to sit up and listen. As punters it is difficult as horses are not trialling or training with any consistency. It makes form analysis much harder as is your horse fit and will it handle the track are all questions we ponder AND in the busiest time of the year. So please take all this into consideration when betting over the next period as we increase our form analysis all things considered.

Melbourne Racing Tips 5 WINNERS

Anamoe – Might and Power Caulfield Stakes
Anamoe is now a $2.20 in from $3 as the Cox Plate fav as predicted prior to our BEST BET call on Anamoe last Saturday in the Might and Power Caulfield Stakes.

EXTRAORDINARY race it was a classic 2000m WFA and proved yet again this race is a SERIOUS horses race. Three of them (Anamoe, Zaaki and I’m Thunderstruck) went to the line with not much between them and whilst the margin was small it was reflective of the run Anamoe gave to win. He simply didn’t handle the Caulfield home turn (despite winning the Guineas last year). He crabbed lost 3 lengths on Zaaki and co, to balance and do what he did was EXTRAORDINARY. For trainer  Cummings to say that tops him off for the Cox Plate then look out!

Golden Mile – Caulfield Guineas
Golden Mile won the Caulfield Guineas in what was a HUGE day for Godolphin with 4 winners! Golden Mile appeared to have every chance in the run got into a lovely trailing position edged off coming to the turn hit the front and fell in really. This horse was the “second stringer” for Cummings but became the number 1 when Aft Cabin bled and stood down. Golden Mile is the $4.50 fav for the Spring Champion but there has to be SERIOUS queries over its ability to run the 2000m. It would’ve been rolled if the Guineas was 50m longer and from a Victorian Derby perspective there were a few to follow namely Berkeley Square, Amenable, Elliptical and Osipenko- ALL GOOD BLACK BOOKERS

$9.50 winner in Tooorak…Tuvula
Tuvala was a nice VALUE bet on the Saturday Racing Tips form sheet as a $9.50 WINNER in the Toorak in what was an inaugural Group 1 win for jockey Jarrod Fry. Only 7 days earlier he was pushing a few around at Murtoa Cup Day (not even riding at the metro Melbourne meet) but 17 years after his career began he finally bagged the elusive Group 1. It was a charmed ride box seated got the run and held on it was textbook. The stable apparently targeting the Railway with trainer Lindsay Smith a former WA man that race in late November over the 1600m at Ascot. The run of the race was CLEARLY Law if Indices reeling off unbelievable sectionals and a BLACK BOOKER. The next run not overly clear holds noms for a number of races including the Cox Plate so pathway unclear.

Adelaide Racing Tips $18 WINNER BEST BET bolts in….

Our Adelaide Pro Racing Tips analyst Value Victor was at again. Race 3 at Morphettville and our selection Declared we rate $7.50 and WINS at $18 with Value Victor. Jumped straight to the front and never headed, it was a great move to burn to the lead, last start the horse was trapped wide and showed plenty of fight. It was VERY strong through the line in good win. The other nice win for the day was Exalted Fire. It settled into a lovely 1 wide trailing position peeled at the 600 and moved up to them turning put them away in a nice win….\BIG SPRING RACING WEEK COMING UP….
