The Melbourne and Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival really kicked into full swing last Saturday at Flemington and Rosehill with plenty of winners and nice profit returns. We had the Group 1 Lightning Stakes and the Hobartville Stakes and our results were as follows:

Pinstriped was a 3 unit BEST BET in Race 6 at Flemington with our Melbourne Racing Tips analyst Pete Brinky at Flemington that win remains undefeated (3 from 3) and his little known trainer Enver Jusufovic trained his first Group winner with the victory. It was the horses second run back from a break and seemed to get better the further they went really charging the last 50 for brave win. He now heads to the Australian Guineas in two weeks firming from $11 into $4 equal fav (Hitotsu) for the race.
Expat was a great return in the Group 2 Millie Fox. Found the lead and BEAUTIFULLY rated by Sherry (first Group 2 win and in town! when challenged she responded well and the Blinkers were a nice addition. That run will greatly improve fitness and will run in the Coolmore where has firmed from $46 into $11 (if she gets a run).

Home Affairs was a brilliant winner of the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes and our fourth selection on the form sheet. But what a performance by Nature Strip that was quite amazing. Our 3 unit Best Bet was squeezed terribly at the start to get rebalanced and come again to juts miss was a SPECTACULAR effort. All the honours are with Home Affairs who will now head to the Newmarket (Handicap where has firmed from $4.50 into $3.20 fav). Waller undecided if there will be a rematch with Nature Strip and Home Affairs (Nature Strip $7) in the Newmarket or whether he will take The Everest winner back to Sydney.
Sydney Racing 5 WINNERS and a 21% profit on turnover
Best of Bordeaux top selection and now 9-1 third fav Golden Slipper was another TERIFFIC front running display, backed up its win in the Cannonbury stakes in fine style and now is a genuine Golden Slipper contender.
Mightybeel was a 2 unit STRONG BET by Blaazing Ben and was a tearaway win bolting in by almost 4 lengths. It absolutely relished jumping sharply to the 1900m and put them away in nice win. He was a listed winner of the Christmas Cup (2400m) and will now be targeted to the Sydney Cup (3200m).
Anamoe was a short priced fav and we saw no value in the bet but could not knock either. He had to earn his win, he showed a TON of courage after Hilal came steaming through to run over the top but he dug in hard. Converge made nice ground from the back and the trio will reunite in the Randwick Guineas in a fortnight.

Blackjack Boom was a great rated tip by Blaazing Ben, the horse jumped well then restrained with cover peeled out at the top of the straight and finished to well. The other nice “overs” play was Shamrock Lu it was quite a strong win from the bad gate sat basically 4 and 5 wide the trip with minimal cover spotted the leader 6 lengths straightening and went on for STRONG win.
