Wild Rain hadn’t done much until last start when bolted in with an 8th length win at Kyneton. Thinking that was the confidence booster she needed and can go on with it here. Simply You was heavily backed at first start and got the money at Echuca. Stable is on fire at the moment and looks the danger at each way odds.
Best Bet 2 units #9 Wild Rain $2.60
Value Bet 0.5 unit #4 Simply You $8
Spanish Love was good to us last start when got the money at Flemington. Was a winner here two starts back and looks the obvious pick here. Suspicious Minds was easy winner at Kyneton last start and repeat effort would put it in the finish.
Best Bet 2 units #4 Spanish Love $2.80
Value Bet 0.5 unit #6 Suspicious Minds $5
Golden Mane is flying at the moment and has put 4 wins together. Hard to leave out here but wouldn’t be taking silly odds. We found Second Bullet last week and can’t see why we wouldn’t have something on him here. Drawn to get good run and again has the services of D Oliver. Refectory was a handy 4th at first start in Victoria after coming down from Queensland. Looks the likely leader, will strip fitter and offers good value.
Strong Bet 1 unit #2 Golden Mane $4
Strong Bet 1 unit #11 Second Bullet $4.50
Value Bet 0.5 unit #14 Refectory $10
Winston Drive is lightly raced and 4th up from a spell looks ready to salute. Barely Scent was a good second here last start after a 4 week break. Will strip fitter here and although drawn wide looks a terrific value bet.
Strong Bet 1 unit #5 Winston Drive $4.50
Value Bet 0.5 unit #8 Barely A Scent $8
Hero Master was scratched New Year’s Day for this and although has a big weight to contend with is my top pick. Second up from a spell and has won second up before. Priority Road from the powerful Weir stable isn’t any super star but second up here after a good first up second at Tatura offers value at each way odds.
Strong Bet 1 unit #1 Hero Master $4.50
Value Bet 0.5 unit #11 Priority Road $8
This race has been knocked around by scratchings. Thinking two strong chances here. Profit Share has plenty of ability and was a good second last start at Flemington. Little concern in coming back in distance but will be helped by the scratchings. Fast Cash was terrific at first campaign before spelling. Competed at top level and if is anywhere near right will prove very hard to beat. Tudor also competed in strong company in the Spring and after a short let up looks the value runner.
Strong Bet 1 units #4 Profit Share $2.50
Strong Bet 1 units #5 Fast Cash $4
Value Bet 0.5 unit #1 Tudor $6
Trevinder is first up here and is a winner and twice placed at 3 previous first up runs. Lightly raced and although drawn wide looks a strong hope. Pink Perfection was good to us at Flemington 2 weeks back and although only a 3 year old filly taking on older company also looks a strong bet.
Strong Bet 1 unit #5 Trevinder $5
Strong Bet 1 unit #11 Pink Perfection $4.50
Reldas was unlucky first up at the Valley when 3rd. Made amends second up at same course winning by 6 lengths. Looks the winner but may be prohibitive odds. If looking for value, Gallant Harmony looks the one. Good 2nd at Flemington last start and third horse was easy winner New Year’s Day at Flemington. Wide barrier small concern.
Best Bet 2 units #10 Reldas $2.50
Value Bet 0.5 unit #4 Gallant Harmony $8
