Last Saturdays feature races –

Part of the service we will provide you is a review of the lead up races as we get closer to the Cups Carnival, last Saturday we had the Naturalism and the Underwood:

Naturalism Stakes
Pete says “Not sure if Saturdays 2 feature race gave us any help as far as our predictions going further into the Spring Carnival! In the Naturalism (2000m) the first 9 of 11 runners went across the line within 2.4 lengths of one another! Blanket finishes are quite often hard to assess, however there were a couple of runs that should be mentioned and may provide some insight to the future feature races. The winner, Gris Caro and runner up, Entirely Platinum were both good, but may have been advantaged by a track that looked to favour those runners on pace. Spillway looked to be the unlucky runner, getting back on the fence and never really getting a crack at them. Pay to forgive the fun! Whilst Our Voodoo Prince looks to be ticking over nicely and still is still one of my favoured selections as the races get longer. The Hickmott stable has persevered with Foundry, even though been going ordinary. Although only finished 9th, was only 2.4 lengths of the winner. May have been the addition of hoof pads and don’t disregard him next time out”.

Underwood Stakes
Pete says “The Underwood was similar to the Naturalism, in that it was a blanket finish with 9 of the 10 runners crossing the line within 3 lengths of one another. Happy Trails looks to be on track for another crack at the Cox Plate after running second in last years event. Liked the run of Crackerjack King, travelled well off the fence in lead and held on for a close third. Silent Achiever looks like she is crying out for more ground and don’t write her off for either Cups. None of the first 9 finishes should be dismissed next start”.
