There are a number of Group 1 races over the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival that are Group 1 races including the BTC Cup at Doomben Racecourse in mid May and the Doomben Cup on the 20 May then the Doomben 10,000 on 27 May, all at Doomben Racecourse. Stradbroke Handicap in early June at Eagle Farm Racecourse.
Then the Carnival moves to eagle Farm Racecourse with the Group 1 Queensland Oaks on the 3 June and the Winter Stakes on the 24 June.
But, the jewel on the crown is the Group 1 $1 million 1400m Stradbroke Handicap, one of the best sprint Handicaps in the country. Super Saturday at Eagle Farm racecourse on the 10 June features three Group 1 races and three Group 2 races. As well as the Stradbroke Handicap, other Group 1 races are the TJ Smith over 1600m and the Queensland Derby. Total prizemoney for the day is over $3 million.
