Australian Guineas Winner at $19
Southport Tycoon was a GREAT SAVER VALUE SELECTION by our man Expert Melbourne Racing Tips analyst Pete Brinky. We rated it $12 AND PAYS $19 in the Australian Guineas at Flemington. We also saw the Golden Slipper Stakes favourite firm for the highlight race of the Autumn Racing Carnival 2024.
Jamie Kah gave him a peach of a ride, tracked Veight the whole way and simply too strong. After that win Maher now considering a crack at the rich All Star Mile now that he has the Group 1 under the belt. We did have Riff Rocket as a best bet, not a great ride from Williams but they press on, possibly the Rosehill Guineas the goal.
Atishu a BEST BET WINNER
Atishu was a lovely win in the Blamey as a BEST BET, giving us 6 MELBOURNE RACING TIPS WINNERS for the day including 2 BEST BETS. Tracked up nicely but did some work on the home turn however still travelled up well and let down nicely. The goal has always been the Australian Cup ($8 third fav) but after that win the next step could indeed be the All Star Mile ($10 third fav).
Golden Slipper fav gets HOME
It was a short priced BEST BET WINNER from Blaazing Ben Perkins Sydney Racing Tips. But Storm Boy AGAIN dominated his opposition and further tightened his grip on the Golden Slipper (into the $2.30 fav).
He jumped well, wanted to race a bit too well. J-Mac tried to steady but when you hear him post race say “he was going quick then wanted to quicken up the hill you know this horse could be unparalleled”!! Looks the Golden Slipper winner at this point.
Manaal was a short price fav and WINNER Saturday and is now Golden Slipper bound after her nice win in the Sweet Embrace Stakes. The market however not so thrilled with the win drifting from $17 to $21 (but she deserves her shot and she did relax well on Saturday
Sydney Racing Fangirl disappoints
Fangirl the beaten $1.40 fav and was simply the victim of her racing pattern. The winner was Think it Over, our second selection behind Fangirl and pays $9.50 as the SAVER BET. The ride by Rawiller on the winner was SUPER, he saved ground and was willing to take the fence CLEARLY the winning move. Fangirl needs to respond next run.
ANOTHER MELBOURNE RACING BEST BET WINNER
Another Will was a MELLBOURNE RACING BEST BET WINNER and continued on his winning way. Trainer Maher showing the patience of a saint with the horse by refusing to tackle any lofty targets. It seems the All Star Mile and Australian Cup are off the table instead racing through his grades is the path forward as the horse irons out some kinks in its nature.

Unlucky Ayrton, doubt there was a tougher watch on the weekend than those on Ayrton. He never saw Daylight and is well worth a follow next run…….
