Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival 2019

Sydney Spring Racing Carnival versus Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival Dominance

Sydney Racing is sick of being left in the shadows of the towering Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival and their CEO Peter V’landys will not die wondering. Racing NSW have announced a minimum of a $1 million race every week spanning a 9 week period from September 28th ($1 million Group 1 Golden Rose) winding up with the $1 Million “The Gong” run at Kembla Grange on Saturday 23rd November.

It is a massively bold move by Racing NSW that will see them pitting their two biggest races, the $14 million The Everest against the Group 1 Caulfield Cup and their $7.5 million Golden Eagle head to head with Victoria Derby Day. The battle lines have been drawn.
